Hi,
I tried what you said to do, and it won't work for me! I'm so disgussted
with this email site, I want to go back to my other one at comcast. Do you
know how I can transfer all the emails that i have received here, to my other
email account?
Then, I wish to close out this account.
Can you please help me with this?
Thanks,
Linda

Try Microsoft's fix:

"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista"

That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.

You don't have an account with Microsoft. All you have is a copy of
a Microsoft email program. What accounts you enter into that email
program is up to you. You can stop using Windows Mail, but there
is no feasible way to return downloaded emails to the Comcast server.

If you want to give a different Microsoft email program a try, take a
look at this one: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Make sure you have send authentication enabled:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
The box for "My server requires authentication" must be checked.

If after making that change you still get an error message, change
the outgoing (SMTP) server port from 25 to 587.

I have too downloaded the 941090 updated. My windows automatically downloads
any recommended updates as well. I still cannot send emails from Windows
Mail. I have a sbcglobal.net and att.net domain. Anything in particular?

I have been unable to send emails. I can receive emails. I am not sure what
to do. A friend at work who is a computer genius set it up for me but he has
moved away and I don't know how to fix this issue. It is frustrating to not
be able to send emails b/c I can't use work email for personal and I really
this to get resolved. I went to website you mention in one of your replies
to update My vista 32bit but it said not required. Dont understand can you
help me.

Had the same problem

not to mention infinite other problems with Windows Mail when outlook
express for Win2k worked perfectly for me >:|

I used a program called WMUtil, worked perfectly, now the outbox is cleared
and mails come and go freely
