That was in the day when we were young and gay (old connotation) i expect they are old and grey and bald like me now, but in those days they how to look cool and they could play (in all meeanings of the word)
Aye, I suppose so, they were certainly of my time, I'm just thankful I still get excited over new music although I must confess that's getting less frequent lately, I'm definitely going a bit retro, perhaps old fartiness is finally kicking in at last
Newer acts I have enthused over are The Killers, Bloc Party, Vampire Weekend and Snow Patrol but none of those are particularly new. Quite like Skrillex but that's more of an experience than musical apreciation, sheer noize, lol
Of the Small Faces, Steve Marriott died in a house fire about 20 years ago (such a waste), Keyboardist Ian McLagan is still alive and well and gigging with his Bump Band, bassist Ronnie Lane died from Multiple Schlerosis in 1997 and Kenny Jones is still alive, drummed with the Who for a while, still gigs and owns a polo club in Surrey.
It wasn't such an innocent time though, here's a reminder of how brutal things could be, have always been, and probably always will be. Another fave Small Faces song of mine, The Autumn Stone, which somebody has set to footage of Sharon Tate, the actress murdered by Charles Manson and his gang.
