Seems that Comet & Mesh marriage is going well, no divorce yet.
And seems Comet are telling punters that having a Mesh Laptop is a great new unique experience:rolleyes:

Mesh Victim:
On this forum, honestly, you're preaching to the converted.
Nobody here, in their right mind, would ever purchase a computer from Mesh.
Yes, you are right. I, like several other Mesh Victims, have posted inappropriately and in a way which might be counterproductive. We Mesh Victims do this because we are so disgusted with the way Mesh do business and so exasperated that they continue to get away with it, creating more and more Mesh Victims. This is why even a Magistrate like nottsfedup and a Consultant Surgeon like FRCS posted about Mesh on this forum and another forum respectively.

Unfortunately I do not have the time or computing knowledge to be a bona fide member of this community and my arrival here was because my colleagues in the Trading Standards Department where I work urged me to post about my nightmare experience of Mesh on the Internet. So on 8th, July 2005 I visited my first ever computing forums, posted about Mesh and have continued to do my duty for 18 months. On reflection, it may now be better to take a break, because new visitors may get the impression that this forum is anti Mesh. Of course, it is not anti Mesh or anti Acer or anti any retailer, it is simply pro Truth and the reason why there are so many critical posts of some retailers is that they are so disreputable.

As is often the case, my experience since making the mistake of ordering from Mesh nearly two years ago, has illustrated the Bad and Good sides of human nature. The Bad has been the obnoxious people in Mesh Customer Service, the utter contempt with which Mesh treat their customers, the two guys who run Mesh this way and those computing forums who are cosy with disreputable retails and suppress the truth about them. The Good has been computing forums like PC Review which refuse to prostitute themselves to disreputable retailers, people like Ian Cunningham and the forum moderators who devote themselves to maintaining this influence free, pro Truth forum and all those Mesh Victims from a most honorable Magistrate right down to a most humble Young Cruncher who have posted about their nightmare experiences of Mesh to warn others.

It is also timely for me to give it a rest for a few months, because one has to be fair to Mesh. Remarkably, there seems to have been no new Mesh Victims posting here since November, perhaps Mesh have turned over a new leaf or perhaps Brent Trading Standards have obliged them to do so. In addition, I believe for the first time, Mesh are now selling through another retailer, Comet, and if they are intending to cease direct selling that would probably make their appalling Customer Service redundant from the point of view of the individual end purchaser. I would genuinely like to return in a few months time and find that the problem of appalling Mesh Customer Service was a thing of the past and I would happily post accordingly. It would mean we could all give ourselves a small pat on the back for playing a part in achieving something worthwhile. However, sadly, from my experience of Mesh, reading hundreds of posts made by other Mesh Victims and from studying their Directors’ Reports of recent years giving details of turnover, profits and how much the Directors pay themselves, I regret to say that I just cannot believe this leopard will ever change its spots.

Finally, before I depart and give you all a break from these lengthy ramblings of a sad old git, I would just like to say how much I value all the acquaintances I have made over these past 18 months and this includes even those with whom I have exchanged sharp words like the Esteemed Moderator Adywebb and that Young Cruncher feckit.

See you all again in a few months and please remember …….

Together we can make a difference !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumb:
Best Wishes,

Unique
Adjective
highly unusual, rare, radically distinctive, without parallel.

Well I am very pleased to say, as I depart, that I can agree with you this time Young Cruncher ;)

Although I could say much much more

In view of my previous post I will resist the temptation

Catch ya later in the year :thumb:

MeshVictim why not use the rest of the forum and not just this one thread?
I'm sure you have a lot to offer, may be more than you think.;)

Remember use protection at all times, no not that one, use a credit card thats protected!

Mesh's behavior is down to trading standards, because they let them do what they like to people, i'm sorry if i offend anyone who works in that department, but in my experience they totally supported mesh.

The reason i say this is because, it sets the bar for traders in this industry who just want to make a quick buck, and that means open season on any first time PC buyer, or anyone else who is naive enough to be tempted by the promise of a bargain.

So although i think mesh are crap, i think trading standards are worse because they obviously arent doing their job. Other companies dont get away with this, i dont see why mesh should.

Point is, if your find this forum on your quest for info on a new PC, make sure that ANY manufacturer has a good reputation supporting them, otherwise you could learn the hard way, and trust me, trading standards wont give a toss unless its going to get them brownie points.

Thanks for the offer, But it's bad etiquette to advertise another forum via this one even if you are talking about Mess PC's!!

hello everyone *waves*... i too found this place by doing a google search on mesh computer complaints lol...driven to it by my just-over-a-month-old mesh computer, which has mysteriously decided to stop running efficiently overnight. currently it will only run firefox, which is a little inconvenient for me as i work online and my work pages only run in I.E. I've run a multitude of tests and still can't pinpoint the problem, the hard drive has made the odd bizarre noise (roughly 4 times in the month since i received it) but being desperate to get back online and working i cast the thoughts aside :(

i received my machine on 31st january, paid a paltry 556.00 compared to some of the amounts i've seen discussed in various threads... it's now 4th march and just over a month old... i've not only suspected that it was a dud one but this now seems to be confirmed by the fact that it's not working properly. i paid for it with a credit card as ancilliary information.

i'd dearly like to send it back, reclaim my cash and get one that's actually going to work for longer than a month (not a mesh one), can anyone here advise me please on how to go about this and whether i'm legally able to do that?

thanks in advance for any info :)

Hi 'Feckit',

Re my post above about the class action - sorry, didn't realise it was bad etiquette to advertise another forum via this one. Have only just started using forums. I guess it's common sense though, something I always lack :)

Anyway, thanks for letting me know.

Just wanted my fellow Mesh sufferers to know they don't have to accept the poor service any longer - there is a legal alternative, e.g. a class action to form one strong, united voice. I'm not a troublemaker, I just think it's pathetic how so many people are being treated by Mesh and individual requests for help are being ignored or not being followed up despite promises.

Do mesh care?

It's interesting how Mesh take to people voicing their views here & on other forums.

If they cared that much about their image surely they would do something about it and improve their customer service & support and build quality they offer to the customer?

May they don’t care after all?

My Mesh Nightmare

Thank God I'm not alone in this!!! I've had a nightmare with my order from Mesh. Here it is in all it's glory. Sorry if it's a bit long but I've just got to vent....

1. 25th January 2007 – I order the Mesh Matrix AM2 Pro after seeing it A-Listed in PCPro for months. I decide to pay by ‘finance’ and pay extra to have it delivered before noon. Due to delivery issues regarding a large amount of orders because of the release of Windows Vista, the delivery date of 22nd of February is given.

2. 21st February - I ring Mesh to establish whether my PC will be delivered the next day. I am told that my deposit did not go through since there was not enough money in my account when they tried to take it out. I was told this had happened a few days ago but I had not been called about it. Paying with my credit card I am told that the PC would not be delivered for another week – 28th of Feb. is given as a delivery date.

3. 28th February - PC is not delivered. I am not called to be given warning of as much, and/or called with an explanation why, and what will happen next. I call Mesh and I’m told that due to ‘stock issues’ (there were not enough processors apparently), there will be a further delay of a week. I am promised that the stock will arrive, my PC will be tested and delivered to me by 6th March.

4. 6th March - PC is not delivered. I am not called with any explanation. I ring Mesh again and I’m told definitely Friday, 9th March.

5. 9th March - PC not delivered. Manage to speak to a certain Pritan in Sales. He dealt with my complaint and promised to call back later that day. Pritan does call back and tells me that after consultation with his manager, that I would be upgraded from the AMD 4600+ to the 5000+, as some sort of compensation for my troubles. I appreciate the gesture, and accept. I am told that it will arrive on Tuesday 13th March.

6. 10th March - I get a call from Mesh informing me that, again, due to stock issues my PC would not be ready for delivery until the following Friday, 16th March.

7. 13th March - While ringing up to confirm that the PC would arrive on Friday and express my frustration and displeasure with these delivery issues, I am offered a free upgraded delivery day, from the Friday to the Saturday (17th), before noon, as I had requested. Although this meant cancelling a lift up to Northampton with my sister that morning for St. Patrick’s day and making my own way up in the afternoon, I accept the offer. At least, it seemed, I would be getting my PC at last!

8. 17th March - PC is NOT delivered. I am not called with any explanation as to why. I ring Mesh at 11.30 and am told that it would not be delivered that day. I spoke to a sales rep. called Nishal who understood my frustration and promised a Monday delivery, ‘if we have to cab it to you’. Despite Nishal’s reassurance, I go down to your offices myself, and manage to speak to Nishal personally. He told me he had done as much as he could that day, leaving notes and messages for managers to get in contact with me and sort things out etc...

9. 19th March - PC is not delivered. I have taken the day off work. I stay in all day until 3.30. I am not called by anyone during the day, at all! I go down to Mesh offices again. I speak to another Nishal, the Sales Manager, and he is very apologetic, offers me some games, 15 months worth of free Bullguard Anti-Virus, and a delivery the next day of my PC between 5.30 and 8.30. Despite the fact that this is not the time I have paid for delivery to arrive, I agree. You can understand I just want the thing to be delivered. I am, however, furious.

10. 20th March - PC is not delivered between 5.30 and 8.30. There is no call. No explanation as to why. Etc...

11. 21st March - Again I am not called by Mesh all day and so by 2pm I call for an explanation. No explanation is given for the failed delivery. The PC was on the van but not delivered. I am told it will be delivered today between 5.30 and 8.30.

12. 7pm 21st March - PC arrives. However, only the tower is delivered. There are no speakers and no monitor. To top it off, the PC has not been upgraded to the AMD 5000+ processor as promised.

13. 22nd March - I ring Mesh to express my disgust at this ridiculous state of affairs. After getting through to the Sales team and asking for an explanation, I am told I have to speak to customer services. Eventually, when I get through to Customer Services, I explain all that has happened and tell them I want a refund. I am simply given an apology and told that I need to write a letter to Customer Services telling them I want a refund.

14. 26th March - To this date I have not been called by Mesh. The speaker package arrived last week; luckily there was someone in the flat downstairs to receive the package. I do not know when the monitor will arrive. No one has called in regards to delivery times etc...

This list of events, (read non-events), does not include the hours of time I spent on

hold waiting to speak to someone from Mesh. The numerous times I was put on hold

for half an hour at a time only to be cut-off. The mornings I arranged for someone to

be at home to wait for my PC to arrive. The bitter disappointment every time it didn’t

arrive. The kick-in-the-teeth I got when the PC was delivered without speakers and a

Monitor, and without the upgrade as promised. The customer service for this

Company is absolutely appalling. I would not have minded all the delivery issues so

much had I just been given a call, and an explanation. Some indication at least that

this company cared, and wanted its customers kept happy. I will be asking for a

refund from Mesh and I’m aware that I am not the only one. This gives me some

comfort, to know that I am not alone in this. Hopefully, PCpro, or Watchdog, or the

Trading Standards will bring Mesh to account for all these failings, and hopefully

there will come an end to this consumer nightmare!

Tom.

Bloody hell Tom, a tale of woe indeed :(

Good luck with the refund.

Those computer magazines have a lot to answer for.

Sorry to hear you bad luck (well mesh's normall service).
Sadly your not alone in getting the standard of service you got from them.
In the past people have contacted BBC Watchdog in the hope that if enough of us complain they may well feature Mesh!
Keep us informed on how you get on.:thumb:

Crap Service from a well you know what i was going to put!

Good to see however much Mesh get bad press or comments on any forum, they seem hell bent on offering a poor service. In fact it's the one thing Mesh are good at doing, sadly!

Have done all the necessary. My only worry now is the fact I bought the damn thing on finance and I only had two weeks within which to cancel the agreement. It may be the case that I'll have to pay what I owe to them first, THEN try and get a refund from MESH. What dya reckon? Am I up the proverbial creek without a boat, or a paddle??

If the finance is with Mesh you could really be in the ****!:(
However if Mesh have promised you delivery & have not delivered you may have a case for a refund.
Mesh are very difficult in getting a refund from, they play the game right down to the deadline!
I only got involved after buying a 2nd rate pc from a 2nd rate company!!
I do suggest you contact Consumer Direct or BBC Watchdog or both for advice/help, as they may well be able to help you more.:thumb:

And please keep us up to date with how things go.

Most companies strive to offer a good level of service.
Mesh seem hell bent on striving to offer a poor service time after time!
Surely this will damage what reputation they have left?

I have suffered at the hands of Mesh for over 3 months my computer was 3 months old and on the 7th January it failed and has not worked since, this includes an onsite visit and 2 RTB, are Brent Trading Standards still willing to help even if you live outside the area?

Hello.

I`m a very new member to this site and I would like to add my comments to this thread.
I am an owner of a MESH computer,It`s now almost 3 years old,and so far (stretching out to touch wood) it`s been great. It arrived in tip top condition and it worked first time out of the box.So I am most shocked to read all these adverse comments about the company.I thought they were a good company. By reading these posts I most certainly would not buy another MESH computer, even though my one has never given me any trouble.I would have to ask my self "do I trust them"? The answer would be no!
All the best
