Unsent messages in outbox

Maybe your problem is the same as mine. I accidentally put a space in the
e-mail address that should not have been there. That is why it would not
send. I know my problem, but how do I get rid of that message it keeps
popping up every time I use my e-mail.

The unsent message should be in your Outbox folder, so open that
folder, then delete the message.

If you put it in an outgoing message, you'll have to either delete that
message
or move it to the Drafts folder. Sometimes this requires that you
disconnect
from the internet while doing this. If it refuses to do either, download
and
install this hotfix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for messages stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version of
Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first.
Some
common antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
tend to cause stuck messages and other problems in Windows Mail, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember where to find
the hotfix and hope it will install again if you need it again. A recent
version
of the Trend antivirus program also causes assorted problems in Windows
Mail.

The Vista SP1 update includes this hotfix and more, but takes longer to
install.

What are possible resolutions?

We often need to see the complete error messages, not just summaries of
them, to tell. However POP3 is not a valid server name, even though it
is a valid protocol, so if this is your problem, also tell us which email
provider
you are trying to use. Many people choose their internet providers as their
email providers also, since most internet accounts include one or more
email accounts.

Just click on the e-mail at the top of your outbox list which appears to be
blocking your outbox and drag it to another folder, deleted items being my
recommendation but any folder will work. This will remove the file from the
outbox, click send and receive and you're GTG.

have the same problem I don't think I'm opening my account properly do I

getting mail in and out through msn?

Thanks for the good ideas. I am brand new to this system and will wait a bit
for the corrections. It is very, very frustrating, though.

I had the same problem. Are you using an AOL mail account? Try logging on to
your mail account go to "Tools" scroll down to "accounts" select "mail" then
single click on the tower icon that says "pop.aol.com (default)" to
highlight. Go to the button on the right hand side of the box that says
"properties" Click on the "server" tab. In the incoming mail it should read
"pop.aol.com" Change the outgoing mail to read "stmp.aol.com" Use no
capitals and of course, don't type in the " marks--it should look like the
pop.aol.com--just change it to say stmp.aol.com. Apparently their incoming
and outgoing servers are different and they make you chose without giving you
any direction--what a pain. If this has been helpful, post a note:-)

Although we appreciate your effort, it is better not to confuse the OP
with random advice that may or may not apply.

Thank you.
