Windows 10 Windows 10 Upgrade Notice

And still no notification for me.

nup, nore me, and I'm glad. :)

I may just hang on to Win 7 until 2020, when it is due to officially retire. (inc. FREE updates) Then maybe look at Win 11 as Win 10 may have been retired (inc. free updates as long as I do NOT change any hardware) by 2017/19.

Than again, I may go on a world cruise. :)

Well my upgrade icon magically appeared this morning. Problem is when I click on it, it closes as soon as it opens.

Tomorrows the day then people, whos jumping on it? :)

I'm going to be far too busy with RL to do it for at least a few days...

Take a look in your C/Windows folder (show hidden folders) you should see a folder called: $Windows.~BT

That is the pre load folder.

See how big it is,

Still no download /upgrade for me. Just a message to say I will get notification blah blah blah.

Seems its being deployed in 'waves' as MS called it. You might not be in the first wave.

I've got all the files downloaded but the update hasn't triggered yet, but I guess not being at home and doing the upgrade via remote might be asking for trouble! :D

I have however just done a full backup, just in case it goes tits up.

Microsoft will notify me when it is avaliable for me to download.
That's nice of them, hope it will include service pack 1 by then!!!

Before I went out this morning I switched the PC on to pick up my emails. When I went to logoff it said not to switch off the computer as it was doing an update. Anyway I left the computer running. When I got home the PC had switched off so I assumed it had finished what it was doing. However, looking at my update history I see that for today there was a definition update for Windows Defender which succeeded and Upgrade to Windows 10 Home which failed Error Code 80240020.

Doing a manual check for Windows updates just now it shows that there are none available.

I'll wait till I at least get the memo off MS. :)
