Let me also say there is no options under tools in windows mail. only
spell, request read receipt, check name , slect recipients, windows contact ,
windows calander, encrypt, digitally sign are all highlighted . request
sacure receipt is faded out. Help please

I really appreciate that someone has written this in detail. Below it states
to go into the MAIN Windows screen to make changes. I thought I knew what I
was doing until I read that one sentence. It works for me now. What a relief.
Thanks sooo very much.

Go to windows mail and the "options" is at the bottom. ( on mine anyway)
Click on options and go to the spelling tab (7th tab along the top) I have
got a tick in " check before sending" and my spell check now works. Thanks to
Gary VanderMolen's post.
Good Luck.

THANK YOU WARKWORTH!!! This worked for me too (being contrary I changed to
French and then back to English). Thank you thank you!

Went tools options spelling, then checked always check spelling before
sending.
english was up hit apply then it worked.

I did the Options language change . Then tried to spell check with anobvious
error and it didn't catch the misstake. Now What?

Hi Judy,
Thankyou so much for describing in detail how to set spell check,

I went in and changed the language because I keept geting the language
message and it worked great for about three months but now it will not work
at all even if I go back in and try to switch the language over then swich it
back. Does anyone have any other advice? Please help I use the spell check

Hi! Click on Tools at the top of Windows Mail...then
options....spelling....choose language other than english...apply...choose
english...apply...then return to your create mail message...type as message
with typos and try spell check....it did work for me....Good Luck

I know why. On the old system, you just opted to check the spelling from the
compose screen, and Vista changed the way you do it.

You could always invoke a spelling check from the compose screen,
but that's not where you make permanent setting changes.
OE and WinMail are the same in that regard.
