If you can't find Options on the Tools menu item, then you're not
in the main Windows Mail screen.

Hi! Click on Tools at the top of Windows Mail...then
options....spelling....choose language other than english...apply...choose
english...apply...then return to your create mail message...type as message
with typos and try spell check....it did work for me....Good Luck

Good tips, but trying one step at the time, all I had to do was check "spell
check before sending". (Vista Home Premium)

Worked for me, thanks a lot..

I too had this issue with the error message "Language is no longer
available for spell checking. Please select another in the spelling
options dialoge".
and changed it to German then did the spell check (it
was written in English) and when I did the spell check it said the spelling
check was complete (indicating it was correct)! So I then changed the spell
check back to "English" and
misspelled words on purpose-it still said your spelling check is complete.
Any
other suggestions?

On your e-mail, go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, then SPELLING.
Under "When checking spelling, always ignore".
Uncheck "The origanal text in a reply or forward"
Then hit "APPLY".
That worked for me and I hope it works for you!
Good luck!!

We had the same problem, but finally figured it out this morning. When you
go to the spelling tab to select english, be sure to click on "apply" before
clicking on "ok." Hope this works for you!

Thanks! That worked for me, silly that you have to change to another lang.
then back to English. What ever works. Thanks

tried the "send" button way but no help...don't know where the language
"options" are, they do not appear under "tools", just the word "spelling"

If Options does not appear under Tools, then you are in the wrong screen.
Go to the main Windows Mail screen, not the message compose screen.

(Side note: I really don't understand why people are having so much difficulty
finding this.)

Hi it has nothing to do with language. Go to Start, go to Windows mail,
select it, go to tools, go to options, select the spelling tab, check
spelling, hit OK. That should do it.
