Actually that is one of the functions of stuff like Adaware and Spybot
S&D - they spot and let you remove those cookies that are bad guys.
OTOH *many* cookies make your life easier.

Lou

Adaware and Spybot are snake oil. I write Web applications for business
and know what cookies are about which are bits of information with your
session with a Website. I don't think a Website cares about another
Website's cookies.

A Website is only concerned with its own cookies and what applications
on the Website that uses and knows about those bits of information
within the cookies. Adaware and Spybot are much to do about nothing,
when it comes to cookies.

...unless it is a tracking cookie that, um, tracks you across multiple
web sites in an attempt to gather stats on your surfing habits, and
serves you specific ads based on those habits. For example, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubleclick

These are the cookies that your 'snake oil' applications remove.

Adaware and Spybot are snake oil.

Thats Bullshit. I've never seen any attempt at 'Snake Oil' type
marketing by any of these products. They are free for Gods Sake. Are
you sure you know what Snake Oil is?
I write Web applications for business

Don't you understand that perhaps this type of information obtained by
the user of cookies can be misused?
I don't think a Website cares about another
Website's cookies.

The website (if you wish to personify it) doesn't. But the marketing
engine behind the website sure does.

Ok - so there is no risk to privacy with these cookeis :-) ?

I more than understand what snake oil is. And it's you bullshit opinion
that I don't have to agree with it at all.

I fully understand it and I still don't have to agree with it now do I.

Yeah, sure you're right. I so much believe your take on everything.

I am kicking ass and taking names on anyone that will take the hook in
any NG. It don't make a difference which ones, because I have been in
that mood for the last couple of days.

The fool wants to jump, then I got bullets for some ass. And point
blank, anything Laura posted, she can it her butt and your butt too.

I'll never read another one of her posts

I may be out of the mood soon, as have restored order in the PGM NG. ;-)

You tell that Egan he better shape shift because I know he's looking and
is Egan Beaver ready to jump into the mix.
