I popped over to the Icrontic forum for the first time in a coupla years and noticed they have a GW2 clan (or whatever you call it) going there.

They also have some screen shots and I have to say the game looks very good indeed, miles better than the first one.

Tempted.

Hi Flopps, yes, GW2 is very different from its first incarnation. It's better by miles, imho.

I've already got 5 character-slots in use, covering each of the Races and 5 different professions (there are about 8 to choose from.) By far, the most amusing of them has to be the Asura. They blend action with sheer fun. I've laughed until the tears rolled when using mine. They're effective in battle, but really lift the spirits too.

I'll not bang on more, because obviously, I'm a fan and my views will appear to be a bit biased. Don't think you would be disappointed though, if you decided to give it a go. :D

I'm a fan too, spent 7 years, off-n-on, in GW1, this game however, beats the pants off Skrym. :p

TC and me are on the Piken Square server, we formed a Guild "The Misguided Misfits" especially for us, the more mature gamer, also people that 'see' you in a guild are less likely to pester you to join their's ... we've had loads of fun just exploring but the game play is rather good to. :)

Oi Massah Mucks, you no knock Skyrim, best game evah since at least Half Life One :D

But the GW2 pix I saw looked great, huge monsters! Even worse monsters than local traffic wardens!

So is it still Sold Out?

Naw, Skyrm was OK, it was the stupid controls that were just daft to me.

yep, direct from ANet it is still closed for the reasonable priced copies, tho' you could splash out for the OTT Collectors box version. :)

You can enter your e-mail address and they’ll notify you when they are available:

not sure if available from another source, it's a "digital" download and the key is in an email, so I wouldn't go trusting any other place, unless it's someone like Amazon.

Nowt wrong with Skyrim controls - wassup? ;)

Servers oversubscribed? Queue up for a game?

No way.

Let's see how this pans out, looks like another case of game compiler underestimating demand and/or being tight on bandwidth.

Colour me in sidelines watching.

Nope, we don't 'queue', one gets put in an overflow server, where you can carry on an play the game as normal. These 'queues' are non existent during most of my game time, we do have European servers.

Yeah, I suppose they did underestimate the number of the initial 1,000,000 subscribers, name me one MMO that got it right and I bet they flopped on day one ... :p

Personally, I think ANet have been very honest and forthcoming in their response to player 'complaints' right from the start.

We're increasing world capacity as necessary to handle all the new players coming into the game.

During this initial surge of high concurrency, and especially while most characters are low-level and thus playing in the same starting areas, it's common for players to be directed to overflow servers.

To play with a friend on a different overflow server, form a party together, then right-click on the friend's portrait in the party list and click "join". We expect the use of overflow servers to naturally subside as players spread out more through the world.
TC & me have no problems in grouping together and moving from zone to zone in a party ... initially, it was a bit hit & miss, but ANet have 'fixed' it and it works as intended.

Ha ha I thought the everyday I'm shuffling one was spot on, I liked the little mouse man dance too! :D

a very good guild on GW2 crafting ...

... worth "subscribing" to his YT channel. :)

oh, and ignore the fact that he says you need your items/ingredients in your inventory, GW2 has change it so you actually use the item from your bank ... there are some exceptions that you will need in your inventory, but at least you will have room to actually make things. Thanks ANet for listening. :)

ArenaNet has finally reopened online sales for Guild Wars 2

Standard - £40.00; Deluxe - £65.00; Collectors edition - £130.00

I've seen standard edition on Amazon for £35.00 but of course they're sold out. As are Play, HMV, GAME et al.

So, for double bubble price of Deluxe version you get a statuette, a book, an audio CD, a picture frame and a set of five prints. Are they worth the extra £65.00? I dunno, but those 10" statuettes can go for around £40.00 sometimes.

Hmm, I've just sold a load of small stuff on Ebay and there's £77.00 sitting in my Paypal account and you can buy GW2 with Paypal from that link. Tempted, let me think about it. Knowing my luck by the time I've made up my mind they'll have sold out again ;)

It does look good though :)

It sounds as if the winds of Tyria are definitely blowing in your direction Flopps. There are voices in that wind, saying "Sir Floppington... somewhere in the Mists, there is a char with your name on it... Come join us on the Piken Square server ..." ;)

Btw, amongst many other creatures, there are frogs in-game. Giant ones - some of whom are friendly, others who are sneakily aggressive.... such as the rotten so-and-sos who tried to murder my Asuran ele yesterday. Just remembering you like frogs.

About those voices.... it's not just me who hears them... right..?

voices.... it's not just me who hears them. :o

I can just see Sir FlopEness with Asuran ears.

The pair of you... you're mocking me, aren't you?

May a pestilence blight your foodstuff at such a jibe, shame on you, merciless mercenarys
