And the proper newsgroup for Windows Live Mail is
microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

Can you not send pictures? Or any email?

I tried using windows live mail and it works as long as the person you are
sending it to is also using live mail.

Very peculiar! Something in your Windows Mail is corrupted.

As I see it, you have two options:

Switch to Windows Live Mail:

If you would rather not do that, you can try a repair-install of Vista:

:

Make sure that file isn't open in some other program.
Windows Mail can't attach documents or images that are
still open elsewhere.

I am actually trying to send a short music file (not a picture), but
I'm
still coming up with this msg. Why does it give us the option of
inserting
background sounds if it won't work? Why can't I send my song?

Lol @ f*#k microsoft. i agree.

f*#k you microsoft said:
this inability to use a file because it is in use by a folder window or some
preview device is ludicrous, it defeats the purpose of drag and drop.
microsoft, you suck

Windows Mail is more likely to be able to attach the file if you download
it to a file on your computer, then close all programs that access the file,
such as the program that downloaded it.

i only had this happen once, but my image i had inserted in windows mail was
still selected. it had the graphic selected with the square or dots still
showing. i went into the body of the message and clicked there, it was
unselected and i was able to sent the msg with graphic.

I'm almost ready to give in and buy a copy of XP. Vista is fine, but it's
work to learn the silly changes they've made, as far as I'm concerned. I get
this message very often. I just get a lot of annoying little things
happening with Vista, nothing I can't overcome, but I don't know why I'm
working at it. XP just installed, albeit it took a little longer to install,
and ran.

open new message, goto format, go down to background and click on sound
there, see if that helps your problem out.

I get a message that"one or more of the pictures in this message could not be
found. When you send this mesage these pictures will not be included. Are you
sure that you want to send this message?" The problem is that i am
responding to a message that has no picture, symbol music or anything else.
Please any help would be good ;)

Perhaps the message you are responding to was supposed to include a
picture, but it didn't arrive. In that case, the picture won't be
available,
and about all you can do is send your reply with the picture still missing.

Hello,

Nearly every time I try to forward something with images in it like simple

Thanks.

Hi Robin,
I am having exactly the same error problem. Before I had Vista I used to
send background sound on a regular basis....it's fun. It doesn't make any
sense that the option for background sound is there but it won't let you do
it. I've been searching for an answer and I'm so frustrated. I think it's
another Vista malfunction out of many. I tried to pay for someone to put xp
on my new laptop and take Vista off but my new computer won't allow it.
I hate Vista.
....if you find the answer let me know and I will do likewise.

tracy

Is the file containing the background sound open in any other program
when you try to attach and send it? If so, Windows Mail is likely to have
problems attaching it.

Many of the newer computers don't have XP versions of their drivers
available, and therefore part or all of the computers won't work under XP.

Gary-

I appreciate your attemt to help me, but I'm not trying to attach a music
file. I'm actually trying to send the e-mail with the music playing in the
background, but it doesn't work whether the file is open or not. In fact, I
even tried sending the file as an attachment and setting it in the background
(thinking maybe the problem was that the program could no longer find the
file after the e-mail was sent) but that doesn't even work. Maybe you can
still help me now that you know what I'm trying to do.

Thank You!!!

If you are using a firewall or spam blocker program in e mail, that can
stop you from being able to send and receive emails with certain files and
file attachments if the spam blocker does not have the right settings checked
--- at least that's how Computer Associates is that comes with myTime Warner
Roadrunner service. I could not even receive images at first until I went
into the advanced settings and checked the box that said jpg and ping avi
files mpg

:

check on tools in email and see if you have a digital id set and encrypt is
checked that may be the problem in your mail

Robin,

Sadly I am able to do this on my desktop. Music, stationery, photos, etc. I
never get this error.

I have only had this laptop for a few days and it is a whole different
animal. I'm getting the same error.

It isn't what you are doing, it isn't because something was suppose to
arrive and it didn't. I don't understand ir either. It works fine on my
desktop and not on this laptop. Luckily the laptop is used only for travel.

If the software is corrupted as suggested, it came on this system that way
and what I backed up is corrupted as well. There is no "recovery" disk.

I am going to inquire directly to MS and see if there is a fix. If I find
anything I'll pass it along.

My smug husband just left the room saying I've never had that problem on my
laptop. grrrrrrr

Don't know if this means anything but if you go to the bottom and hilite and
delete the info plastered from Yahoo it doesn't get the error. The emails not
from yahoo aren't doing it. This is added to the bottom of the email
___._._.____

I know this has nothing to do with photos or music but does address the
original question of the error message and how to get rid of it.

I'm still looking...............
