Music. What are you listening to right now?

One of my most favorite songs. The other half always has it on in the car, the kitchen, you name the place she plays it :D

Having a Nirvana moment (the 90's band, not the sixties one) and have come to think that 'Bleach' was their best album, here's a track from it. Love the hospital gown btw, there is no clothing article in this world that makes you feel as vulnerable or stupid as one of those

Mr Flops has been listening to this for 41 years and I still like it, just played it on vinyl at home, then played some Doris Day, Nancy Sinatra and The Marmalade on Youtube. Strange days.

Nice choice Mr Bootstomp! I really enjoyed listening to that :)

Excellent find too Quad, I've not heard that before. How amazing is that double bass player?! I've had a cold this week and it's given me the husky jazz voice I've always wanted :D

You may like this unusual version of a great standard too, the cello player is awsome and sounds so amazing!

Deathwish by Blessed by a Broken Heart
Heavy metal with a classic rock twist. Good stuff.

:thumb:First time I have ever seen a double bass being played like a guitar, but I liked the old Judy Garland song sung with a new interpretation. NICE:cool: Oops:o
Its a cello, thought it was a bass at first glance:o

:thumb:They don;t make them like that any more. I love the old jazz singers like Cab Caloway and Sachamo, great singers and characters:cool:Great find:thumb:

Now we be cooking with gas, bootneck!

I was lucky to see Cab live twice @Pori Jazz — the first gig was "solo" (with a good jazz band), the other (a year or two later) was with the Blues Brothers Band.

Good memories.

Satchmo then... and Ella: I sometimes think that if they'd gone all the way — pushed the pedal through the metal yada yada etc. — the Universe would've exploded.

This is NOT to say I did not enjoy Quad's Melody Gardot's posts — au contraire. But... she — together with Norah Jones etc. etc. etc.— is SHOWING talent — with time, they MIGHT get to the point where my spine melteth. I mean, with Ella... that voice just tickles me silly, and there be firecrackers exploding throughout my spine.

Here is one more good Melody Gardot vid:

And, finally, HERE is a 1930 version of Minnie the Moocher... just think about it... I was lucky enough to witness him performing it 55+ years later — with the same energy, style and whatnot. (The reason for my "just" posting a link is... um... because the uploader of the video has chosen a photograph of a contemporary (early 20th century) human female with her upper ventral region of the torso unclothed. This seems to be generally unaccepted, so...)

Those old time tracks are just fab.
Here is another variation of "Over the Rainbow"

Just out of interest does anyone here play an instrument ??

My mother was a music teacher missed me but my son has a music BA Hons degree and plays Cornet/ Trumpet, several wood wind instruments and ukelele and my daughter is euphonium player.:thumb: I cannot play a note (except the wrong note) mother tried and tried but failed. But I love music of most genre but that is about it.
