First problem I have had with Vista. I have a email that I have read and can
not delete it from the inbox. When I click delete I get an error message:
An unknown error has occurred.

Any suggestions? HELP!

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
or a recent one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember
where to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

Hiya Anna, In Windows Vista Mail there is a Bug which affects The Deleted
Items Folder. If you have emails in there you can not Delete, Type into the
Microsoft Search Bar at the top of the Page the following, Download KB941090
Update Press Enter. Just follow the Instructions, Once the Download is
Complete, A Restart is Required. When your system has rebooted go to Windows
Mail, Open the Deleted Items Folder Highlight the offending Error Message
then just click Delete. This should solve the Problem.

You are a Godsend it did work. You just forgot to include that you have to do
the process repeatedly for each stuck email in the folder. At least I had to.
But still I will do go through it 20 times if it means getting rid of that
darn junk email. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

This fix works faster. Download and install it with Windows Mail not

If you want to be treated as shouting and get fewer answers,
post in CAPITAL LETTERS.

I am having the same problem, just started today, unable to delete any of my
E-mail messages.

Sounds like this has been going on for a long time from the dates on the
postings. Has anyone come up with a solution out there?

A fix as been released by M$ to resolve the problem of undeletable mails:

"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista"

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

It works for all folders.
