Since you are using Xnews, this may help until such time as they
start using a tag. Add a section to score.ini,

[^alt\.comp\.freeware]

% score down Tramp and Protean OPs (floods)
Score: =-200
From: Tramp|Protean
~References: @

That will downscore any post from them which is not a reply to
another post (at least until they morph again). Then use alt+K to
map a key to "Articles | Show >=0 Scores"; I use the 0 on the
numpad.

Then you can either read through their posts or hide them with a tap
of the key. Replies to them will still be visible, in case anyone
has anything to say in response, such as to point out they've posted
adware or shareware again.

as it can be agreed upon & and stuck too...

With posters like Protean Thread morphing their posting name to
deliberately get around killfiles and filters ........ what on earth (or
whatever other planet you are familiar with) makes you think they will
suddenly start adding [ANYTHING] to their floods ??

you just can't explain this sort of thing to a mongoloid. they just
