Who Uses ALL FREEWARE?

The paid version of Agent for me - when I bought it many years ago, I
REALLY wanted the kill filter function. Other than that, I paid for
Scrabble (which later turned up in cereal boxes, grrrrr). Other than
that and the OS, I believe everything is freeware. I've sent the
occasional contribution.

I think we have a winner! :-)

I'm in Phoenix, AZ, and we're expecting 101 degrees today <g>.

Have a great day!

Susan, it is not only a question of features list.
I believe that many users of Forte Agent will just answer that no other app has
such an elegant and easy interface.

(I have tried plenty others, 'coz Agent is weak on binaries.
But for general usenet nothing else is half as elegant IMO)

OK, I'll play: I wish for a freeware version of Agent 2.0, and -even before it-
an app to edit the messages received in groups inside the (Free-)Agent DBs.

Brrrrrrrrrrrr .... Ugly Cold Wet White Stuff !!!!

Come on down, but no guarantees of cool temperatures
here in Phoenix until November ...

Why? What features are not available in freeware? Requests for the
Freeware Wish List?

It's mainly features, but also has to do with excellent design and
intuitiveness. All I can say is do a 30 day trial on all the above. They are
simply miles ahead of any freeware and even shrink wrap software.

Heh. My daughter's wanting to wear a sweater when we leave for daycare in
the morning because the temp's dropped a couple degrees <g>. I told her
she's not getting a bloody sweater until *at least* Halloween!

Have a great day!

Except for highly specialized business programs, What Shareware or
Commercial programs are not replaceable by Freeware?

MATLAB

(yes I know of the alternatives in Linux, but the do not come close )

Cousin Ernest ....

Mid 70s in the morning does seem relatively cool
after just doing several months in the 110°F zone ....

I was amazed to see the number of Phoenicians
that wore goose-down jackets in October and November
when I first moved here back in 1981 ....

Locally attributed to "thinning of the blood" ....

Now I'd actually like to get a little closer to the equator
as even Phoenix gets too cold for me in the winter ....

My first winter here I was the same way. Mid-January I was still just
wearing a light sweater while everyone else was bundled up like it was going
to snow ;-). The next year I was right there with them!
Now I'd actually like to get a little closer to the equator
as even Phoenix gets too cold for me in the winter ....

I hear ya. I lived my first 9 years in Illinois and got enough cold to last
the rest of my life.

Have a great day!

My heart goes out to you and I will think of you this winter as I blow
out my driveway with the snowblower.
No - really......can ya take me in?

My weakness? Nod32 AV, Second Copy (backup program), Performance Test
(bench marking), and FlashGet. Oh yea, and Forte Agent.
I bought and use Paint Shop Pro 5.03, mIRC and the Star Office 6.0 upgrade
for Linux. Other than that, I use all freeware. Well, I do also own a few
games that I bought a long time ago but now I only get freeware games. And I
have used and still sometimes use freeware in place of the things I bought.
I use GIMP, xchat and Open Office quite a bit.
