I had it installed on my XP machine before I reloaded it. It worked OK
for me the few things I used it for, like opening old Word documents and
unzipping zip files. It installed fine too without any problems. In
the long run, I stuck with open office. I just tried it out because I
had an OEM office XP on my old Dell, but since I was giving my fiancee
my Dell with Office XP, I needed a replacement office suite. It's
entirely likely that I should have stuck with it because last August
when I tried to use open office to print labels for my wedding
invitations, it was a nightmare. Open office has a bug when you try to
print labels with it, and the help file tells you the wrong way to print
the labels so you run into the bug (this was on open office 1.x). After
searching online, I found the problem and was able to print my labels
finally. I still use open office 2.x now and for everything else I've
ever done with it, it works great. I just hope they finally fixed the
label printing error. Kurt actually turned me on to Easyoffice in the
XP groups.
