Way overdue, giving back to the group - Firefox extensions.

The button is created by dragging a file over to the taskbar,
according to the help file. That file never showed up. The install
was normal. I dunno.

What do you see when you use View | Toolbars | Customize ? Are all
your buttons missing from the dialog, or just that one?

The answer is different from yesterday, I'm back to 093, see other thread. Now I
just have PrefButtons installed.
I see all the buttons, but for instance, "images" title shows but the checkbox
can't be activated, so it can't be dragged over to the taskbar. If I could solve
this, wouldn't need any other extensions.

Solved problem by going back to PrefBar 2.3.1, now it works again in FF 093,
didn't last week, did before that. Whatever.

I find that sometimes I don't have much to contribute so try to find
another way of giving back to the group. Since I just spent several
days tracking down Firefox extensions that would work with the new v1
to replace the old extensions that didn't work, thought I'd save
anyone interested some time. I packaged up my favourite extensions
and just posted them to alt.binaries.freeware. The file is about 366
kb small <g> and contains the source URL. I was able to do that
thanks to one of those neat newer extensions, SendTo. This one took
me the longest to find and it's the one I use/need the most! <lol>

So enjoy! And thanks for everyone's help in the past.

I found another great extension this morning that I had to share.
This is great for getting those instructional/information flash movies
from websites, something I needed to do for some research I'm doing.
Rather than messing around with trying to find the source of the swf
and saving that way, this extension allows one to nab any embedded
items, usu. flash or other media.

I'm posting it over to alt.binaries.freeware momentarily.

The extension, btw, is called "Download Embedded" and I found it here:
http://www.aeruder.net/extensions/
and right-click and save to a destination folder of your choice on the
blue text in the blue box "Download Embedded 0.1" or direct dl link
provided.
http://www.aeruder.net/files/extensions/firefox/dlembed-0.1.xpi
for those that don't have access to alt.binaries.freeware.

I include a "readme" type text file with blurb in the zip.

Cheers! :oD

Thanks for the great links.

I've been trying to grab this great flash interview with Bono using
several different "flash grab" programs but without any luck
http://www.ted.com/utils/streamingp...ong>TED</strong>Prize - <strong>Bono</strong>

With this particular flash movie it doesn't save a complete *.swf file
to Temp Internet Files that can be grabbed later.

If anyone here can find a way to successfully grab this flash movie I
would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Marty

fitwell, would you be able to post your package of extensions for
Firefox v1 again, I can't find it on the alt.binaries.freeware
newsgroup. For some reason I can't go back more than 5 days worth of
messages.

Thank you,

Marty

Well, found yet another one <g>. This one replaces Deskcut for me!
It's called "Create Shortcut" and can be found on this page:
http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/#cs

But as usual, I've zipped up my copy for which I make up a small text
description page to go with it culled from the description on that
page.

I posted it over at alt.binaries.freeware a few minutes ago. But
those who don't have access to ABF, can get it from the page above,
too. They're such small files, this xpi one is only 7 whole kb! <g>

Cheers!
