Way overdue, giving back to the group - Firefox extensions.

I find that sometimes I don't have much to contribute so try to find
another way of giving back to the group. Since I just spent several
days tracking down Firefox extensions that would work with the new v1
to replace the old extensions that didn't work, thought I'd save
anyone interested some time. I packaged up my favourite extensions
and just posted them to alt.binaries.freeware. The file is about 366
kb small <g> and contains the source URL. I was able to do that
thanks to one of those neat newer extensions, SendTo. This one took
me the longest to find and it's the one I use/need the most! <lol>

So enjoy! And thanks for everyone's help in the past.

For those of us that can't see the binary ng, could you post a URL to download it?

Sorry, I don't have a webpage. I'll re-post again. If you like, I
would be happy to email to you? How does that sound?

Cheers!

It came up fine for me. Sometimes I find that the binary file takes a
little longer to upload.

I'll re-post again. That might help.

Hi,

Great. Is there any description in the ZIP?

J

There's a little text file for each extension that has a small
description in the name as well as what was on the webpage where I
found the extension inside the text file. I used one of the
extensions to do that, no less, the one called SendTo!! <g>.

Though usu. one-liners, the descriptions are fortunately pretty
self-explanatory.

I don't believe that anyone will like them all, but hoping that those
interested will find one or two of use.

Cheers!

Hmm, ripway, thanks for the heads up. http://www.ripway.com/ 30 megs
of free space. Worth looking into for me.

Cheers! :oD
No problem!!
Ripway is good
the only hassle is limited bandwidth
10 MB of transfer for 30 MB of storage
still great for free

I can't offer a zipped package of them, but I guess I'll post the link
to my list here.

<http://www.cotse.net/users/putty/firefox-extensions.htm>

The extension version numbers are outdated in some cases, but links are
to the extensions' home page where the newest versions live. Hovering
over a link should bring up a tooltip with a brief description.
ListZilla generated the page, then I modified it a little.

This is pretty helpful, too, and I thank you for it. But do they work on
1.0.1?

Not very good. Decent ISPs strip binary attachments out of non binary
groups...you know, like this one.
