somebody please tell me how I delete an ".LDB" file

well seriously buddy

you tell me how much time you spend compact and repair.. how long did
it take you to understand these concepts when you were just starting.

why is it that you need to RELINK _AND_ REFRESH?

wtf is up with that?

how do you backup your mission critical databases that are built on
MDB?

EVERY database should allow itself to be mission critical; even if it's
a simple list of customers.

solutions built on MDB are short-lived; they don't scale.. they don't
even ****ing run over the network well.

i mean.. have you ever had to enter data into a mdb across it network?

it takes FRIGGIN FIVE SECONDS TO OPEN THE DAMN APP

what a piece of shit; there isn't anything in the world that should
take 5 seconds to do.

....lol ...so the toddler's mdb app takes too long to load ...and he's not
smart enough to figure out how to avoid it ...and here he is explaining how
stupid we all are ...I love it! :)

NO. MDB is just a crappy ass slow ass platform.

IT DOESNT HAVE AN ENGINE.

you can't run it across a wired network with ANY decent performance.
and you can't run it across wireless AT ALL.

....if you know what you're doing, upgrading 100 desktops is a piece of cake
done from the server ...upgrading SQL Server otoh, can be a trial for even
the most experienced.

'application' lol

he's talking about upgrading the physical hardware.
it's more efficient-- from an architecture standpoint-- to utilize the
resources on the server.

with MDB you always need to run out and buy 100 of the latest desktops;
where with SQL Server; you buy a single fast desktop; SQL Express or
MSDE: and you're in business.

are you seriously arguing that MDB is a better solution?
do you work for MS?

I've seen it; in writing-- that ADP 2007 will support SQL 2005 design
changes.

I find that laughable.

And this isn't someone that makes up aliases; this has been my other
signon for years.

I just strongly disagree with you; Access MDB has _NO_PLACE_ in any
business.
it isn't reliable, stable, scalable, dependable; it has extra
maintenance; and it requires excessive development time.

ADP is a better, easier, more powerful system.

I'm talking about needing to increase the hardware.

you can either increase the specs on 100 machines or on 1.

what do i think about Oracle?

I dont think that Oracle is competitive; on price / performance.

On the other hand; I hope that MS gets it's ass kicked in the db world.

Microsoft isn't taking the db market seriously; and they never have.
ADP was the FIRST product to come out of Redmond that you could run
your whole business on.

It is reliable; it is scalable; it is easier development than MDB.
