Windows XP Memory Error codes and Data exection

Yep, XP is one, next to Vista, of the best memory diagnostic programs in the world, especially when doing a fresh clean install. ;)

If no memory errors occur, all's well, then you'll need to look elsewhere ... if you do get some errors, start looking at replacing/exchanging the ram. :thumb:

Have run mem test and no errors came up. Where else can I look to fix this problem?? Also could this be a motherboard problem??

Can you please advise me.

Thanks.

You're still getting this on a fresh install? If so, try Mucks suggestion of swapping the ram over. :)

If you want to disable DEP to see if that is the cause. Here are the steps.

Just disable DEP for the program in question ... don't disable it for your whole system.

1. Click Start
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select System
4. Click the Advanced tab
5. In the Performance region select Settings
6. Click the Data Execute tab in the dialog box that opens
7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select
8. Click Add.
9. The open dialog box will open. Browse and select the application.
10. Click Open
11. Click Apply
12. Click Ok
13. Reboot

If the system is ... "freezing" / "hanging" / "can't find" ... on a fresh, clean install, then I'd be swapping the memory out for known good stuff.

Then do another fresh, clean install ... if the bloody thing still fecksup, I swear at it, get another cup of coffee, and start swapping out other components.

;)

All seems well at the moment but I am not holding my breth on it.

I have only got the basics on there at the moment still testing it. Ran Burn in test today and it found no errors.

This error means that the cause of the identified problem is unknown.
:(

It could be anything ... but as I said before, I'd have swapped out the ram long ago, if not just to eliminate it as a the problem.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

I dont have any other ram that would fit into that PC. Is it best to send it back for a replacement and see if it happens with that. Does this sound like a motherboard fault??

Can you please let me know.

Thanks

So I need to send the RAM back for a replacement then?? and then start looking at other parts as well.

Not if the RAM is OK as they will just return it as being checked and charge you......you will have to put in some replacement RAM and see if it cures the fault, or run one module at a time to see if just one is faulty - then you can go ask for a replacement under warranty.

Other than that I have no other ideas that may help at the moment.
