You can DL it from this italian site (I'm italian!)
http://www.maurorossi.net/pagine/programmi/timesaverscreen.htm
it need VB runtimes to work, but it's fantastic.

One question: Is this only the dial and numbers, or does it rather look
like a wrist watch (tied around the arm), as the picture on the site
indicates?

Quoted from the page: "Time Saver Screen è uno screen saver composto di
orologio analogico e datario ampiamente personalizzabile. Elegante e
soprattutto pratico, compatibile con tutte le versioni di Windows.

I think, I can translate this as: "Time Saver Screen is a screen saver
containing an analog clock and calendar, which can be customized (with
lots of options). Elegant, first of all practical, and compatible with
all versions of Windows."

BTW: I had no lesson in Italian ever (only Latin), and am female, as in
Germany, all "Gabriella"s are named "Gabriele". So please don't address
me as Signore :)

Has anyone come across a program that allows one to fill up the screen
with an hour, minute, second clock ? It would be handy to see at a
distance the exact time on the computer when setting a clock's time
in another room.

Analog or digital. As long as it is easy to read from afar. An ability
to "ping" on the minute would be an added bonus.

Regards, John.

For a digital clock take a look at the elegantly named CLOCK:

For an analog clock with lots of extras, try SUNCLOCK 5:

What... all of them? How?

I tried installing "Simple Clock with Date" and apart from the
fact that it wouldn't work, SpyBot SD Resident popped up. After
uninstall I ran both Adaware and SpybotSD, that found
an item each that wasn't there before.

Aren't those all from the same developer? I'd consider this an
"if one, then all" situation. I've just now let loose one of
their installer files - rediffusionclocksetup.exe.

The install report shows some crud added to HKLM - including a BHO.

Added to the sysdir is something with a telling name: ATPartners.dll.

The properties for that file, description field, it says,
"Exclusive offers from Addictive Technologies & Partners"

Conclude: Teamtaylormade makes things tailor made for the trash.

After deleting the malignant DLL and registry entries, I tried
running the .scr. The configure dialog came up all right. But
nothing visible occurred when trying preview/test (/s) command.
Same result that you got when you tried it even with the installer's
stuff initially retained.

What I did get as result of attempting to launch the .scr file --
it was the appearance in my temp directory of new files each time.
Some .mid files. Some .swf, not shockwave, but some sort of unknown
binary. And then this: a screenshot of my desktop each time. I don't
know how to interpret that. Whether there is a boring and rational
explanation. Or instead, another.

Thank you. Iwill never recommend again! Ever.

It wouldn't run here either; but loads of screensavers don't.

HOLD ON!!

Think of those you've spared, by bringing that company's products
up for discussion. Such that people can then contribute their
experience to help towards needed information.

The company was -very- secretive. No indication on their site, in
their license, nor on the download descriptions used at third-party
sites.

So your post results in information to live on in Google groups,
for anyone to look up, for when they are out on the web, coming
across that company's products, and want to find out whether to
be suspicious.

I wonder if it runs on XP? The Winsite D/L link includes /winxp/

That would explain it. I mean, it'd be illogical for that developer to
have devised programs to deposit malware on peoples's machines without
his at least trying to give them a nice wooden horse to look at.

spyware ):

Which one? There are more than a dozen linked, and the topmost one is
done by a Chechian (sp), which doesn't look like it is spyware.

Im am currently running it on my second machine, and if it would "phone
home", my modem would show lights flashing.

I had one of those once; a mail from a friend suggesting I delete the
System folder... :-)

I've wondered, do these types follow their own excited advice?
Or are they too enraptured & busy with clicking the FWD icon?

IIRC the record number of pseudonyms used by one author of books is
around 392 - it begins to look as if some Freeware author may eventually
exceed that mark.

If you are using win98se (and possibly winxp) the choose the 3D Screen
Saver, and under the settings check the "use time" box.

Thanks. Interesting idea. That however has the time moving all around
the screen. A bit irritating. :-(

Regards, John.
