Then why are spammers successful using it? I was just reading up
on it, and all the advice to disable it, and one of the many reasons
to disable it is its use by spammers. I'm still under the impression
that it would work if the target has WMS running and no firewall/
router blocking.

You still need to be under the subnet. Lets say you are on 192.168.*.*
and bob is on 170.168.*.*. You wont be able to message bob. SPammers
got around this by having zombie/infected machines on many subnets.
They could just relay the message to each

I wrote Elayne and asked her to find an 800 number......and if not, just the
local one. Hopefully she will return from the beach and let me know. I
will fire it off to you as soon as I get it.

She didn't goto Florida did she? Maybe she got eaten by a shark!

Ok..now I will feel guilty if it actually happens....:|

Then why did Beau see a "message sent succussfully"? That suggests
to me that there was a "handshake" between his and the target machine
at least. Have you actually tried the experiment?

Ditz.....grin!! She lives overlooking English Bay in Vancouver, BC......no
sharks there that I know of. The beach is about 3 minutes from her door.
