Your are getting too technical for me I'm afraid. I've enabled windows fw
and disabled McAfee firewall... you want me to run those tests again? I'll
do it anyway

Can you enable Window's firewall, then disable Norton's firewall (in that
order so a worm can't get you - or go offline to do it).

Does anything change. Both TS and the netsh et al?

The other thing it does is cleans the hosts file (forgot to mention that).

I didn't need to reboot after running it, though I was offline and it was
working.

So you log on, run this program and TS starts working but your network
doesn't?

Type in Start - Run
%temp%\vbdata

and you'll find the reg files it uses.

Merge the 2 files.

Then in Start Run
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc
and open the file Hosts with notepad and paste the contents.

Started doing the %temp thing....windows can't find vbdata

The program deletes them after you click OK or Cancel. Do it while the Do You Want To Reboot dialog is open.

I'm lost now. Can't get vbdata. This is wearing me out! Do you want to
remote connect?

On my 33.6K modem, not at all. It's very fustrating. I have a 56K modem as well that I don't use cos the 33.6 was $400 new but the 56K is only a $30 modem. And 56 isn't significantly quicker than 33K.

I'll email them to you. Send me a mail with a valid return address. My address is valid so hit Reply rather than Reply Group.

What about the Hosts file. That should be there.

The hosts file, as before, just contains the standard sample document..no
other info. There are also hosts.bak, .bho, .sbs files
