Yes, my mistake. Digisol never mentioned what printers he was using. When I
saw the hostility this guy needed to bestow on each of his posts I realized
I was dealing in the realm of a measkitian personality and quit for sanity's
sake.

You are incorrect, and Epson probably snowed you. That's too bad for
you, but it doesn't mean its the lay of the land.

What voided your warranty was you used very poor inks and they clogged
the heads, however, Epson actually has to prove that it was the ink
that did it.

SINCE THE AFTERMARKET RELABELERS DO NOT DISCLOSE WHAT THEY ARE SELLING
THERE IS NOT WAY TO TELL WHAT IS POOR AND WHAT IS REALLY POOR. SO ONE
SHOULD USE FACTORY INK THAT WAS DESIGNED FOR THE PRINTER
I deal with hundreds of people every month that have assorted clogging
issues with Epson (and other) inkjet printers. Many of them use OEM
inks.

BUT MOST USE AFTERMARKET INKS OR HAVE USED THEM IN THE PAST. I HAVE
BEEN USING HP PRINTERS FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND CANON PRINTERS FOR OVER A
YEAR AND HAVE NEVER HAD A CLOG AND HAVE NOT HAD TO USE CLEANING CYCLES
AND HAVE ALWAYS USED FACTORY INK.

If someone bothered to actually read instead of write dribble you wil
see that the initial is indeed the extended warranty, that was neve
hidden, however both warranties are identical but for time and $

The latter warranties are NOT extended warranties but the warranty fo
the regions (same thing anyway) and are as copied and pasted exactl
as given by Epson, sorry sunshine

I did phone Epson and spoke to the boffin in the lab, finding out wha
ink has been used is pretty easy, again if anyone bothered to phon
them you would be told the same thing

This is a total waste of time, goodbye

The lawyers and bean counters are "counting" on a majority of their
customers being just like you and that ****wit moron of an idiot,
meashershithead.
Otherwise the salaries and comps of the execs will suffer.

To my knowledge the US class action is the first that has gone this far.

Canada might be next...

I have always bought Canon multi tank printers since the Stylus 600
went west, although it did print well for it's era.

Class action ? not as far as I know, but not being involved with Epson
anymore I have no idea.

I hope you others get the idea of the warranty now ? it's the same
thing in the US warranty as well and also worldwide, the only thing
you can hope for if in the same boat I was is a kind hearted repairer
perpared to look the other way, or get your woman to take it back
wearing a low cut dress.

Two comments:

1) I just reread the US and Canadian warranty, and they differs
considerably from what you quoted. Based upon the legal interpretation,
Epson would need to prove the 3rd party inks were the cause of the
potentially warranted damage not to cover the claim. That would prove
onerous on their part.

2) You are pretty sexist. You assume you are speaking to a male only
audience (you are not) and that service people are all male (or maybe
gay women??), and also sexist.

This appears, to me, to pretty well sum up your modus operandi -
everyone thinks like I do, and everyone interprets what I read the same way.

Couldn't agree more. I just don't appreciate people handing out
inaccurate information in a newsgroup.

North American warranties differ in wording and legal options.
