Discuss : Essential PC Software

Karen's Replicator?

I'm sure I saw one of those on sale in some dodgy shop up Soho way...

My big sister is after essential software for her new laptop.
Just been naughty & copied & pasted all the info in word & sent it to her.

She now thinks your a very nice man!:D

Little bump.... :)

Just updated this, added some stuff, removed some old stuff, and given the formatting a long needed tidy up! (you probably didn't notice but the BBcode was a right mess...)

I do update it quite regularly, adding bits and pieces to it, so don't forget to check it out now and again. :thumb:

Ah yes, forgot to mention, I added Libre Office a few weeks ago, better than Open Office imo, but of course Open Office is still listed.

Here's one to add, freebie audio editing software 'Wavosaur', better than all the other freebies imo, proved itself to be more stable than Audacity when I had to program a public address amplifier with preset messages recently. Recommended.

Good work V_R :D... the main thread has over 90,000 views and counting!

Added MusicBee media player, Its my new favourite music player!

I've added a few more bits that I've been meaning to add for ages. Win 8 start menu replacements etc. :)

Good work @V_R - have just forwarded the thread to someone who formatted their PC this morning and saw the new update :).

This is a super thread.

It is essential reading for anyone with a computer. :thumb:

Bootneck recommended some free software similar to CCleaner named Privazer a few months ago and I've been using it since then.

From what I can work out it seems to do a very good job, possibly even better than CCleaner.

Worth bunging in under the Systems Cleanup heading.
