Dear British Telecom ...

Sounds a bit like the problem we had when using a BT line.
Service used to dip from 6pm every day, we had more filters etc and the line checked twice.
When we switched to Sky the service improved to 4MB and it's fine 24/7.
Seems sometimes the BT exchange just cant cope with the heavy switch on from 6pm.

Not that this helps you much!

That sounds like typical exchange congestion/high contention. ;)

Are you ion Sky LLU now?

I have 17Mbps & a ping of 28 ... was just kicked/modem reset

:(

oh, and another engineer coming on the 5th :wall:

Engineer #3 called today at 4pm, didn't find any problems in me flat, so he went off to the exchange, and, found the problem.

Took him 45mins to 'fix' it, then came back to dbl check all was ok, he left at 7pm.

Time will tell ... :thumb:

....and the fault was?
Something was switching every 8mins, and I was not on the right line?

My 'problems' apparently co en sided with equipment upgrade.

To be honest, I ain't quite sure, I do know he spent a lot of time finding & 'fixing' the fault. :)

I will certainly let you know if I have any repeates.

I can't believe how long this is going on Mucks.....at least he admitted the issue was thiers and not yours......i hope your done with it for good now. Best of luck.

You guys need to move to America. I got 100mbps coming to the house. :D

Unless, of course, you happen to live in a remote part of Maine....or Nevada, or Wyoming, lol

100mps is not common from what I'm told. One hurricane, one tornado, lines down..

Of course, us Brits don't get such extreme weather.

But we do, possibly, get more rain...
