Crysis Thread!

Huh, your really stoked on this one aint you V_R?

Lol, yeah i am, its the first game that i've seen in a while and thought wow i really like the look of that, and the more trailers and stuff i see for it the more i wanna play the game! :D

I is a big kid! :p

Im more worried about upgrading my system to play the games :D
But from the look of things, i havent seen this many AAA- titles come out in such a short time period since 2004! (Doom 3 , Farcry, HL2)

Cryteks CEO, Cevat Yerli has confirmed in an interview with 'Level Up' that Crysis is nearing the end of the beta development stage, and that Crytek are on track for a November 16 release.

The game has always looked great, but what kind of specs will people need in order to run Crysis so that it looks as good as what you've shown publicly?

We are still working on finalizing our specifications; in fact, optimization is one of the things we're focusing on right now. We still expect to meet our goal to make sure gamers will be able to get a great experience playing Crysis on gaming rigs 2-3 years old from the time we ship. At the same time, we're thinking about the future and also making sure the Crysis still looks great 2-3 years from now, just like Far Cry, which still looks great on current state of the art hardware.

How far along is the game, and what are the major things left to be completed before it ships?

We are in the final stages right now. The Alpha is behind us, and we are about to finish our Beta stage. Some minor balancing, polishing, bugs and optimization are left. We are on track to release on November the 16th, 2007--a very exciting date for us! Cross your fingers please!
He managed to sidestep the hardware specs well.....

New vids up.

Some very nice video's there
Links are in the middle and some screens form the gallery are at the bottom.
Notices how smooth the game runs.
I also like the new voice that tells you "Maximum strength"
And the new nanasuit menu is better animated.
Also the new animation in the weapon customization menu is better.
The frame rate is very high, i wonder what specs that pc has
Overall two good video's and some nice screens and some information :

I'm actually really looking forward to this release.

Last game released that I got really excited about (in FPS genre, anyway) was probably FEAR or PREY.

There really ain't enough quality FPS's for PC being released :(

What about Bioshock? Thats gona be great! :thumb:

Bioshock = Steam.

And I ain't mad keen on Steam.

Although I must admit HL2 and associated episodes was great.

Isn't Bioshock meant to be available now (21st August)?

To me Crysis looks better :)

You dont have to get bioshock on steam, Play, amazon etc all sell it, and its out on the 24th here. Demo was released officially midnight tonight. :)

See the bioshock thread. :thumb:

Ehh, in regaurds to Bioshock...
you have to activate it via steam
hate that fact :(

No, you have to activate it online, you can buy it via Steam if you wish.

well thats what i meant :D
so it doesnt go through steam for activation? huh, thats strange- figured since you could buy it from steam that you had to go activate it through them too.

Crysis just looks insanely, insanely brilliant. I've watched all the videos in the thread, and it just makes me frustrated.

I need a new system damnit. Got more important things to pay for mind, like driving lessons, plus I need a good bit in case I get into a decent uni.

Bah.

Do you know how well optimized Crysis is?

Well all the vids are being run on an E6600 and 8800GTX with 2GB RAM. So its being optimised for dual core. Tbh, i'm not sure how it will run, we need to play the demo.

Have you played Bioshock?

The multiplayer demo was released last night on Fileplanet, if your not a subscriber though dont bother..... :(

No matter, as the singleplayer demo is due in a couple of weeks now!! :D
