Think of it as UAC version 1.0.
UAC has been tamed very nicely in Windows 7.
Agreed. Using Windows 7, now.
It's a shame Microsoft didn't listen to the throng
of beta testers for Vista that told them- UAC was too
annoying, too many times. That Windows Mail sucked.
It was slower for a lot of users. File copying/moving was
slow for many. The different versions hitting the shelves
all at once would be confusing. Vista "capable", "ready"
and whatever confusing terms used for computers was a
terrible idea.
I and many others in this very forum said it numerous times,
that people were going to hate UAC. Regardless of whether it's
"good" for them or not.
Worse, they actually did listen and knew, but did nothing about
these things. Except, push an unpolished Vista out the door.
In this digital age- word got out quickly and Vista was trashed,
and did not live up to Microsoft's expectations for sales.
It got so bad, they had those absolutely horrible Jerry Seinfeld
commercials. Do they actually test market anything? And
actually listen to the feedback? They might finally being doing that
with Windows 7. About time.
