If you could build ANY PC you wanted (money was no object), what would you have? No super computers, but something for personal use ;)

one of them laptops they use in the army, cost a few grand but their built like a brick poo house. can through them across the room just for fun!

I'm not sure what I'd have, ideally a multi-cpu system with a couple of 26" LCDs :) Heck, a hi-res projector :D

Id have an FX57 CPU with 4GB RAM and a couple of 7800GTX in SLI. That would do me fine!!

prettty much the same although i would go for AMD X2 4800 for the CPU ;) ... get a bigass LCD widescreen monitor, have 7.1 surrouond sound system ( wirless :p) 10 HD's! and kick ass perhipherals!

I'll START here, and improve on it a little ...

one of those 4CPU (dual dual core opterons) jobo's would be cool, several GB's of RAM, a RAID array of 15K cheetah drives with 1TB of hard drive space, TV cards dual 7800GTX's with an Ageia physics processor, and the usual other bits

Nope! It was the "Death Star" and Floppy and I know who built it. :p

Alas, I beleive, it is no more. :(

Still, I would like to build something on the same lines. :D

I haven't seen the DeathStar for awhile. It is pretty awesome, though. :thumb:

I'm not sure I have a fantasy pc. I think I'd just like to have a nice laptop right now. :)

Hmm, ok, let’s have a think :D

Tyan Thunder K8WE Motherboard with On-board SCSI
2 x AMD Dual Opteron 252 CPU’s
4GB (8x512MB) Corsair Registered TWINX1024RE-3200LL Memory
Nvidia Quatro FX4500 Video card
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard
Seagate Cheetah 147GB SCSI Hard drive for OS
Seagate Cheetah 300GB SCSI Hard Drive for storage
Sony DDU1615 DVD-ROM Drive
Plextor PX-716SA DVD+-RW Drive
Sony Floppy Drive
Vapo Chill case with associated cooling for CPU ‘s & Grafix
Tagan TG580-U15 580 Watt PSU
Apple 30” LCD Monitor
Logitech G7 Laser Mouse
Raptor K1 Gaming keyboard
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Loudspeakers

Still thinking about printer, scanner, steering wheel and gamepad, although it would probably be an HP colour laser printer, Logitech gaming devices and a scanner that’s good and takes larger than A4 paper size.

I haven’t a clue what that lot would cost, don’t really want to think about it ;)

Hmmm, I'll take a Cray XD1 ... and work it up from there.

;)

Pah! Too easy ;)

Fantasy computer or no, I would not spend in excess of £60K on a computer, I'd rather have a decent motor.

My system was put together by me, not somebody else, and it's almost within reach of a budget, if the work went well.

Go on, put yer own system together, I double dog dare ya :D

Wow if i had something like that death star i would need my own air conditioner in there MUST put alot of heat out !!!!!
