Xbox2 more than just for gaming

Basically, Microsoft waits for others to pioneer the way, gets jealous,
and then steals the idea for themselves (promoting it like it's
something new). It's just what they do. MS will never be the *first* to
introduce anything.

Yes Microsoft never come up with anything.

The Tablet PC, the Media Center and the digital entertainment anywhere wave,
the Smartphone, etc and that's just in the last few years.

Everything you've cited is just MS's implementation of very old ideas.
Shit, I turned my PC into a media center YEARS ago.

The Tablet PC,

Huh? Microsoft doesn't make much in the way of hardware--that certainly was
not a Microsoft innovation.
the Media Center

Huh? I was doing everything that Media Center does when Windows 98 was
fairly new.
and the digital entertainment anywhere
wave,

Which was available before Microsoft did anything. In fact the most popular
"digital entertainment anywhere" device runs Linux.
the Smartphone,

Which is a knockoff of the Handspring and other PalmOS phones that were out
well before the first PocketPC based phone shipped.
etc and that's just in the last few years.

Sorry, that's Microsoft seeing how the wind is blowing and jumping into
existing markets.

Now what have they done that had no precedent?

Microsoft released Media Center Edition YEARS ago.

Not very many years ago--it was released after XP. And its capabilities
were for the most part available using third party products in the late
'90s, before even 2K became available.

Microsoft didn't come up with any of those ideas. They simply invested or
bought companies that had already come up with them.

The "smartphone" idea, for instance, is at least 10 years old alone.

Unlike the "phone that doesn't drop a call", which to date has not been
invented. Ironically, I would classify this as a rather smart phone to
have.. ;)

My idea of a "smart phone" is one that can actually take the calls for
me. ;-)
Unfortunately, that still only exists in science fiction.

I just found out mine can take calls for me :)

I have an Audiovox 8500 and just discovered a feature on it the other
day, after owning it for a year...

I can set the phone to answer a call automatically and it will record a
message from the caller on the phone in the form of a voice memo. I can't
remember reading about this in the manual and was just playing around
with the settings when I discovered it.

What do you mean? I've never had a problem with a landline dropping a
call to another landline - even overseas.

Now cellphones - that's a different matter. All cellphone providers
suck. Period.

If I absolutely have to make a phone call, the cellphone is my last resort.

Why would you need it to make a memo!? Voicemail is much easier...

When you can get a signal it is. I'm not near my phone most of the time
and when I am and see there are messages I'm usually out of range to
collect them.

The PS3 is coming out soon too, I wonder how the Xbox2 will stack up against
that.
I'm not a fan of Xbox, but I'll bet you that the XBox2 is a kick ass system.
