They look like two cyborg eyes, or platic bezel with a glow in the dark center :)

It would be intersting if they were like that, but id be afriad that they would roll over ;)

I guess the shape explains the name... they are quite odd looking!
 
I got the picture from a site and guess what? The title of the picture was xbox_mockup1, so not sure if the actual xbox would look like the one in the picture :D

im going to get an xbox Bex,

im going to use it to store my files on it and connect it wirlelessly on my wirless network
i do think its a very good investment

going to use it as a media centre on my telly

i think its a world class idea, im also looking for a second hand xbox been looking around recently
ebay seems too expensive u can get one there for 60-80 quid whereas u can buy a new one for 99 quid
but obv no games.


course theres lots of advantages and disadvantages on ebay.
ive also been looking in my local newspapers

I don't know about Bex, but the X-Box makes really wicked vindaloos at Chez Flops :)

Only reason I'd buy an X-Box is to play games.

And then only if I thought a game was that great and wasn't available on PC.

LIke maybe Halo 2 for instance, but I digress.

Nan bread and mango chutney as well please ;)

i mean i was round my mates house and he boiled an egg on the thing
but i do think Vandaloos or bread with mango chutney is taking it a bit too extreme dont u think?


fundamentally there are many uses for an xbox in the general household!
 
I am lucky enough to own both of the consoles, (I think the Gamecube is lame, feels like your playing a fisher price toy!)

I think the xbox just gets my vote.

Ps2 got the games and the popularity.

Xbox got the Graphics and the 5.1 sound in the games, (halo sounds bloody good when the lights are low and the volumes high!!)

xbox live's better than the ps2network.

Sayin that, i am hammerin Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2 so aint played the Box for a while! :p

give it 3 more months, it'll come out on PC like Halo did.

I'm going to use it for games, same as flops :)

The thing I like about consoles is that it feels like more of a sociable way to play games - playing games on the PC feels a bit reclusive to me sometimes!

I've pretty much decided to get a new one rather than from ebay now psd, the lads talked me around ;)

Um, just to clarify, I don't own any consoles at all, PC's good enough for me.

Was just mentioning if I did have one, that would probably be it's sole use :)

I have been tempted to get an X-Box though.

hello everyone

i got my xbox, ive had it for 5 days now

must say its GREAT!

ive got san andreas, fifa 2005 and fifa street!
also ive added a 320gb harrdrive to put some of my media on it

i can wirelessly network it, its just like a pc on my telly, so far ive been well impressed

i opened it up its just like a PC, im gona change the case fan soon as its v v loud,
looking to mod it too, gona get a crystal xbox case with nice lights,

Hey Bex, i'd reccomend getting one for sure! go for it! u wont beleive how good San Andreas is!


mine cost me £70 second hand, I had this project planned for about 5 months saved up too!

i was considering running linux on my xbox, but i coulndt set it up properly and i need to get 2 xbox to usb converters which will cost near a score! :)
 
Hey Psd99,

That's great news! :D

One advice I would like to give to you to improve the video output of the X-Box - get the Component Video for it you will not believe how much difference it can bring to the picture quality. I got the unit for my son and we did the comparision with the bundled composite video cable and the difference is like night and day. This of course depends on the TV you are using it with. We use the Philips Pixel Plus HDTV.
 
I will be selling mine soon ( nrend of yr) - to get the new one

I need the DVD player in the mean time though, the missues uses it allot

I would recommend one - PS2'S are good but at least 5 of my mates have experienced problems after a few yrs of ware and tare (Especially if you smoke ciggies in the same room)

The crystal one is really noisy when you play DVD'S, according to a friend at Blockbuster.
