We evaluated something along these lines here a while back. If
these are available that cheap they're probably rip-offs of
what we had, unless Lodestar went under and are selling the
stock off cheap.
Basically takes an image of all the executable stuff on your
drive, cmos settings, registry, etc, and stores it in a
separate partition which you can restore to at any time.
The hardware is required to make that partition secure.
Quite a few sites were using it and liking it, but it wasn't
right for our environment.
Anybody interested in this type of solution but worried about
buying via ebay could do worse than look up Lodestar - that's
in the UK, at least
