ACPI is the most likely suspect...
had a bitch of a time installing Server2003SP1 on an old Abit BH6
config mobo.

All,
The O.S. is Windows XP no Service Packs. I have been validating the
O.S. and then installing the service packs on all my machines a real
pain. I got my laptop, my the dual processor CPU unit, and a old 566
celeron all installed and updated with Service packs and Windows XP. I
also installed Antivirus, etc on them as well and on the machines that
need it Office and its service pack. Its been almost a day just
installing service packs on these machines. Anyways once I finish them
this afternoon over lunch I will switch back to this machine.

Anywas the Capaciters look good. I want to say my problem has something
to do with the ACPI. I remember messing with the bios before to get it
up and running.

I will keep you posted.

Thanks,
Chris

So, what your saying is that the XP disk you have are older releases, so
your forced to do all those downloads. I would agree with the ACPI being the
problem. There are methods to 'slipstreaming' an XP disk so that it contains
SP2 at install time, this will alleviate the need to do as many updates and
fix the ACPI install problem. however disabling it in the bios until after
the install should allow you to get the job done.

All,
Thanks for the help,
I figured out the issue. I had to change, the FSB setting on the
motherboard from 133MHZ to 100MHz. I also had to change the Sound card
to disabled. I remembered the FSB thing when I was looking at the
motherboard again. Funny how you remember stuff like this. The guy I
bought this from (Computer Retailer) set this originally and he told me
about it. I left at 100 so this does not happen again.

Thanks for the help,
Chris
