Thank you for this infor. Was quite simple and painless for an old retiree
working with a new laptop and the "new" Vista with its problems

Hi
Also got message 'Language is no longer available for spell checking' so I
went into:
Tools
Options
Spelling

drop down list... chose German and pressed apply

tried it out on test email .... it checked it for spelling

I then returned to tools/options/spelling .... drop down list for
language... chose English and pressed apply and when i checked the spellcheck
on new e-mail it worked!

Hope that helps

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You....I almost download some software, at
someone elses advice, I do not like putting "unknown software" on my
notebook, but, I'd gotten sooo fustrated..I'm glad I decieded to read a
little further. ...It worked ,like a charm!! (just re-choose English, (who
would have thought) Windows Communities is an Excellent resource tool,
Thanks Mircosoft!

Thanks. When I tried spell check, it gave me the message that "this language
is no longer available." I went into the tools menu and English was selected,
but I re-chose it like you said, and it worked. Thanks again.

Glad to help but you need to describe exactly what is wrong.
Do you get an error message? If so, right-click on your error message,
copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Rather than follow the steps below, I went to Windows
Mail/Tools/Options/Spelling and re-clicked on English as the primary
language. Windows help guide says that, although it shows English, the spell
check won't work until you actually set it to English and hit apply. It
seems to work fine.

Thank you so much for your tip. It work beautifully the first time out. Glad
to see someone knows what their talking about. Thanks again
Serge R.
