;-) Another Bjorn - another suggestion:

Thanks, Bjorn2.

To be honest: I cheated a bit. It's Bjoern here. ;-P

Just for the record, here I am Bjorn, in real life
I am Bjorn with a "o-slash" instead of the "o".(the o-slash i
often written "oe", as you do here, when the "o-slash" character is
not available/can not be displayed or may cause problems with 7-bit
only software/servers).

I sign my name using the o-slash when posting
to scandinavian groups only (while still using only the "o" in my
identity/e-mail address - to avoid problems caused by
7-bit-only-headers servers/software), otherwise I sign as
I do here, with an "o".

All the best

Excellent; use it myself HOWEVER I wish it had a way to close a program
before a forced shutdown.

FWIW In XP I use a one line batch file on the desktop (it can go anywhere):

shutdown -s -t 00

Make the file in notepad and call it shutdown.cmd

(I think adding -f forces all programs to close immediately but I prefer to
let them close in the normal way)
(Note: the last two characters are zeros)

This begs the question as to why I (we) use forced shutdowns for programs
that are resident or alive but not hung or dead.
