Funny how some people can't accept that almost no one wants to run Linux,
and find UNIX and UNIX clone computing ridiculous. Funny how Linux is
regulated to web and file serving and even there Windows is both better and
gaining ground. About the only other place where one might find UNIX Solaris
Linux is on supercomputers which is the OS of choice in painfully
politically correct and sickenly rainbow coalition friendly environments
such as a university.

You are not very convincing. Try backing up your assertions with
logical facts.

Gordon can go first, LOL.

No. I stated facts, you were the one FUDing with your "Funny how .." post.
So *you* back it up.

But if you want some facts let's go:

On the traditionally BIOSed PC desktops: Windows has approx 99% plus market
share, Linux has around or even under 1%. And even if they give it away for
free, people still don't adopt it. If one includes Apple computers, then
Windows has about 90% of the desktop as Macs hold around 10%, far outdoing
Linux.

So "all these people" aren't that many in the scheme of things. Sure they
have a community going as even 1% of the worlds computers is a lot, but
compared to the total .. peanuts. My "FUD" holds, your "facts" fail.

All 0.7 % of them. Even then, what's so great about UNIX/Linux? Nothing:

Everything you've offered so far as "facts" is just blather. Just words
that you have not bothered to back up with logical proof or evidence.
You are certainly welcome to your own opinions. But that's all you have
offered, Saucy.

You're confused. 100% of the trolling is done by Frank and the

You are confused you IDIOT. You generate most of the trolling here. We just have to clean up
the mess behind you when you lie about that INFERIOR Ubuntu that you get a hard-on for.

Remember, Ubuntu is FREE and most people reject Ubuntu as a worthless piece of crap.

Just FYI.

The newsgroup is just as busy - it's just that few people bother to answer
your nonsense and drivel about a ridiculously named OS with a teeny tiny
install base, i.e. Ubuntu. Otherwise, there's lots of activity with
peer-to-peer work going on - you know, people getting work done. 'Ever heard
of that?

I get work done every day with Ubuntu. You post lies about Ubuntu and
you've never used it or know anything about it. Why is that? Do you
enjoy playing the fool?

You are right. My error. A couple guys account for a lot of this newsgroup.
It's has a lower level of activity without them. But it just goes to show
the excellence of Windows and its dependable ease of use. A huge install
base probably in the hundreds of millions, an account to
msnews.microsoft.com built into Vista's Windows Mail, and this is all there
is. Surprisingly quiet. If just a couple guys stop jabbering there's a
noticeable drop. Kudos to Microsoft for their high quality programming.

Well, that's debatable. And that's not false because I am debating it. I
highly suspect the majority of Ubuntu downloads get installed then replaced
with Windows.

Well, goody for you.

Just because you don't like particular facts, points of view or opinions,
doesn't make them lies. I know it must be frustrating. 1997 was the year
Linux was supposed to "take the desktop" .. then it was 1998, then 1999,
then 2000, then 2001, then 2002, then 2003, then 2004, then 2005, then 2006,
then 2007, then 2008 .. and now it is 2009 and, let's face it, there was a
heck of a lot more interest in Linux on the desktop in 1998 than there is
now. The rainbow coalition's dropped it for Apple OSX. On the desktop it's a
fading niche like OS/2 Warp or BeOS.

Now I admit, Linux can be found in comparative numbers in the field of web
servers and file servers. But even there, better operating systems are
gaining market share over the arcane UNIX / UNIX clone model.

So I feel for you, Alias. Reality is a hard thing to face. But the 1990s are
over and your rainbow coalition has moved on. You can move on too ..

All the above are LIES. Ubuntu wasn't around in 97, clueless one. It was
released in 2004. This is just one of the many glaring mistakes you made
in this post.

And Ubuntu is the reason Linux will take over the desk and lap top. Nice
try, but no cigar.

It's interesting that you seem to feel threatened enough by it to
