I have a licensed copy of Microsoft Office XP for Students and Teachers.
It's time to upgrade my computer, and I'm wondering if I need to update my MS
Office suite as well. Will Vista run the XP version of Office?

thanx so much

Yes. But, Outlook will not remember email passwords.
Every time you close Outlook and then reopen it, you
will have to enter your email passwords again.

Also, be sure to apply all Office XP service packs and updates.

Then install the Office 2007 compatibility pack.

I have grown to like Office 2007, it does take some getting used to.
Once you do, it really is a great product. However, IMO, Office 2003
was really good, too. Office 2003 is faster in many ways on Vista
compared to Office 2007. But, Office 2007 has features I've come to
appreciate and use.

I presume your XP dated 2004. I do have one on one of my partitions. I think
the Office is not a part of it. You must have purchased it separately. It
must be office 2003. I presume you may try to install it on Vista after you
set the OS up and running. From what most people are saying it should run
with perhaps some minor glitches.

You may perhaps want to upgrade the Office to the Office 2005 or even 2007,
I believe the latest version is, for a nominal fee, especially if you still
have eligibility for that type of software.

And why in the world, you schizophrenic, need a password to read email?

Where did you get it? Kind of funny? Had a bad dream? Or a bad trip?

Wow. Your depth of ignorance just keeps getting
deeper and deeper.... a bottomless pit of unknowingness.

I almost feel bad laughing at you... almost.

-Michael

Are you for real?

The more recent versions of Office are;
Office 2000, Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 and Office 2008 (Mac only).

Outlook 2002 is part of Office XP.

WTF is Office 2005?

Please, STFU already.

To the OP- Rob, for your benefit, do not listen to
anything that fruitcake AlexB has to say. He is wrong
and wrong on so many levels.

Oh, look AlexB has learned a new word. cretin, because he finally looked at
his birth certificate.

Now, read this carefully and be very very humiliated, embarrased and
ashamed. You are talking about the 2005 version of Visual Studio Tools for
Office...NOT Visual Studio Tools for the 2005 version of Office.
THERE IS NO 2005 VERSION OF OFFICE, MORON.

You are a liar. You do *not* have Microsoft Office 2005
because it does *not* exist.

-Michael

That's a very confusing, and misleading title for the page. A better
title would have been something like "Visual Studio 2005 Tools for
Office"

Demo of Visual Studio Tools for Office 2005

Same thing. It should have been called "Demo of Visual Studio 2005
Tools for Office."

There is no such thing as Office 2005. The only PC version of
Microsoft Office that came after Office 2003 is Office 2007.

One more time- there is no Office Suite called Microsoft Office 2005.

Office 2003 and then Office 2007. *No* Microsoft Office Suite released
between those two. Office 2003 SP3 was released not long ago, dolt.

How pathetic it must be to be you.
Schizophrenia has no limits.

No doubt, you seriously disturbed dingleberry.

I don't know what you have at your Office, but you certainly do *not*
have CDs of Microsoft Office 2005, since there is no such thing.

Wait until tomorrow.

There is no such thing as VS2005 for Office. I used VS2005 until a month ago
when I switched to VS2008. It has nothing to do with the Office, you idiots.

You have never seen VS2005 in your life to talk about it.

A bunch of cretins with no education and poor language skills are trying to
throw their 250 as*ses around to raise dust. very funny.

Hi AlexB,

Is this what you have?
http://www.amazon.com/ValuSoft-10398-Office-Suite-2005/dp/B00079PMTS

Don't think MS made this version or at least I skipped/midded it if they
did. :<(

Oh, AlexB will scream at you for being a criminal communist malware writer
for even suggesting something like that. I expect that this will be one of
the many threads he abandons because he was proven once again to be the most
idiotic fool to ever own a pc.

AlexB,

Why the name calling my friend? no need for that and I surely didn't mean to
insult you or anyone else. I simply stated I have never seen MS Office 2005
or perhaps I missed it, nothing more. Also the statement I have never seen
VS2005 is beyond me how you know what or what I do and do not have. Perhaps
you where responding to someone else and replied to my post. Nonetheless
this is my last reply, time to move on.
