When you get that prompt, click Cancel. That should produce a
rather wordy error message. Right-click on your error message, copy,
then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Also, you can test out your username and password at
http://mail.live.com

right click on out box an then left click on delete to remove the unsent
message if you no longer want to send it.

how do i fix this!!! i have unsent messages in my outbox. I cant send or
recieve messages. PLEASE SOMEONE help me!!!

I have the same problem. The exact wording of the message is:
You have unsent messages in your outbox. Do you want to send them now?

After that another box (errors) states:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I cannot get rid of the message because there is no unsent messages in my
outbox, and no drafts waiting to go. There was one email which could not be
delivered (which the above message refers to), but I have deleted that one
from the drafts file. A second email, to the same address, went successfully.

How can I get rid of this 'unsent messages' notification when the email it
refers to no longer exists. It is very annoying as the message comes up
every time I send/receive, every time I log onto messages, and every time I
log off.

Really fuggin annoying.

Make sure your Outbox folder is not configured for a 'current view' of
"Hide Read Messages".

If that wasn't the issue, delete the account, restart Windows Mail, then
recreate the account.

If no improvement, try running the various repair functions in the
WMUtil program: http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil

If still no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

Windows Mail will keep reminding you, until you delete that message
from the Outbox folder.

why cann't i open my e-mail

Try again with a little more detail, like what happens when you try to open
your email, please.

Also Please start a new thread of your own, this thread is old, and about a
totally different subject.
