THX for your reply, but: In my eyes "Defender" (Pro) is very near to
(Bit)"Defender" especially in the same market of AVs.

A while ago a question was posed about a method used by adware to make
programs "sticky". The term for this is "guardian" as in 'guardian process' or
'guardian program' and refers to a process or program that operates to ensure
the 'well being' of another process or program - usually reinstating the program
or process if found to be not present or running. I attempted to find some links
for the poster to visit - but soon realized that just about *any* security program
was pretty likely to use this as part of its name.

I'm sure the same thing is true of "defender" wrt security software.

The top contenders are all pretty close detectionwise. One may be winning by
a head at any given time - and another the next. The others often lose to the
top contenders by a length or more. If "coverage" isn't a main concern, then it
is okay to use the popular yet less vigorous offerings. They all try to keep up
with the more recent viruses to minimize the day zero window.

When it comes to on-demand scanning, there are very wide and very
significant differences between av products. Merely looking at (most)
detection comparatives doesn't tell the story at all. Some products
are far better than others at detecting "within" installation files,
various kinds of compressed files and packed ... and multiply packed
files. Since I've always relied on "safe hex" and on-demand scanning,
I've found there is only one vendor ... Kasperksy ... that stands out
far from the rest and suits my needs.
