Could FP
have come off my XP disc instead? Where is this program and why
hasn't it
been installed when I always do a full complete install for both
these
discs-the Office and the XP. Some people have written back that it
is not on
the Professional, but I have been using it all along until I
recently
reformatted my hard drive. Thanks!

Find the other disk that has Front Page. If you misplaced it, or the
original copies were not given to you when you bought the computer,
you'll have to buy a new copy! Its' a separate disk!! Is this plain
enough for you to understand what others have already told you over
and over?

No it's not.

Is Premium the same as Professional? I loaded disc one and it is not there
still.

I believe it only comes with Office 2000 Premium

Which Office 2000 Professional CD is it on, 1 or 2?

:

If FP was not part of the Office 2000 suite, you need to install FP
from
the
FP2000 cd that you have.

Or on the box - it lists the applications for the Office Suite that you
should have.

1. Take your CDs out of their holder.

2. If you're looking at the shiny side, turn them over.

3. Now, read the label.

What labels?

Please explain how I have been using FP for two years now, and do not own a
separate copy of it? There are some FP files on my Office 2000 Professional
disc one, but they are not for some reason writing to the hard drive. I have
a web site that needs to be updated. FP is on this disc one. What do I do?
Thanks again!

Tom, thanks! What are these FP files on this Office 2000 Professional disc
one when I explore it?

Always start with disk one.
Select Custom install and you should get a list of options.

fpnovice: We don't know where you got your FP, okay? :)
I can tell you this... FP does NOT come with Office 2000 Pro. It came with
Office 2000 Premium. If your Office CDs are "Pro", stop looking there. As I
recall there was once something called FrontPage Express (or something!)
that used to come with...something! I don't know where that came from. It
took me a long time go get Pro/Business/Standard/Premiums editions straight
and I've been supporting this stuff for over 10 years. I'm so sorry you're
stupid like me and not smart like these other experts here. (Hell, if I had
to keep track of all the software I bought/installed, geeze! Thank goodness,
hubby does that stuff.) Anyway... "some FP files on the disk" means nothing.
What are FP files? FP creates HTML files, but so are help files in HTML (I
think) and probably a gazillion other files that are installed with Office.
So I don't know what "some FP files" means to you or why you think they
might be "FP files". Maybe you can try this freebie: http://www.evrsoft.com/
I have not tried it, so I can't vouch for it. Good luck to you!

FrontPage Express is a cut down version of the editor from FrontPage
97.
It was distributed with versions of Internet Explorer 4.0 through 5.0
It is possible that Office2000 has a copy of IE5.0 on it, and the
FrontPage Express is what the OP is talking about.
FrontPage Express is no longer supported.
