What does a PII sound like when it is getting ready to fail?

I find that if I put a piece of ear to my tube, it can be
used to find the noise.

That's wrong on so many levels. :-) In fact it gives me an idea for a novel.

Perhaps you meant a piece of tube to your ear?

Do you perchance have Norton Clean Sweep installed? ;-)

No wouldn't put anything Symantec (Norton) in this system even if their
software was paved with gold.

I agree totally. I was merely trying to make a joke about the "swish swish"
noise and sweeping. I hate that, explaining a joke means it sucks. :-(

Definitely the fan. I saw how to remove it. Any suggestions on a good fan?
It is one which attaches to the back of the unit and plugs into the
Motherboard. It's so quiet now for a change. I also removed my other Nic
because I guess it's not a good idea to have a multi-homed Domain
Controller. So I was told.

Measure it to determine the dimensions, primarily diameter
and width. Typical sizes are 80, 92 or 120mm diameter and
25 to 38mm thick. Also note the current rating, it can be
used as a guide to choosing a similar speed replacement.

With these details obtained, I suggest something like a
Panaflo.... model number dependant on thost details or input
"Panaflo" plus the diameter into Google and see what turns
up. Panaflo typically come in "L" "M" or "H" (Or even
faster RPM) speeds, you probably don't need anything faster
than M.

I ask because I started getting this chugging noise one day
from the guts of
my puter. I cannot tell anything wrong from the op Sys.
Chugging is the
best I can describe it one word. Here is a better
description. You know
how when we were young we'd put a clothes pin on our bikes
with a baseball
card so that it would hit the spokes as we rode? Now slow it
down a little
and give it more base but sort of two toned with a dash of
treble. Now
consider it doesn't happen all the time just gets very
noticable on the
Net.. I'm not kidding wish I was.

Oh I find if you get a long screw driver and put your ear on the end
of it you can hear lot’s of things

That sounds like it might hurt. No problem it was my Cooling Fan.
