Hi Spock

I just this post of yours.

I think you are so full of it. I am in my 60's and have been around this field a bit longer than you might think. What you wrote does not make sense at all from somebody that claims to go back to the 80's.

If you really want to know the error's and issues that you encountered with Vista it has nothing to do with the OS but rather with your incompetence and your not knowing anything about the Operating System.

Vista works and installs correctly in the hands of people that know even a small amount about computers.

If you are saying that windows Vista does not have any problems then
why are these newsgroups filled with messages from people who can not
install it or who have serious problems which make using Vista a trial?
Trying to insult me because you feel inadequate or have inferiority complex
is futile.

What I wrote are facts and I did fix the problem, but you are quick to blame
the hardware or the person. No one person can know everything about Windows
if they claim so they are a liar or a fool.. They have teams of people
working on it
with thousands of lines of code. Nobody can know it all.

Windows Vista 64bit has serious problems, why is it that I can install
Windows XP Pro
and Windows XP X64 on the same machine without any installation problems but
with
Windows Vista 64bit Business version as soon as it rebooted it fell in a
heap, and every
time there was a different error and the error message did not give you clue
what was
at fault at best it is cryptic, I was taught in programming to make my
comments and
error messages meaningful.

It seems that when Vista installs devices it does not interrogate the bios
and makes
arbitrary choices about the hardware and these choices do not always reflect
the
hardware configuration. Especially when you use a non-standard
configuration,
it can not cope. This is sloppy programming, and I understand something
about programming.

I have used Vista since beta 2 and most things worked but when they went to
rtm,
something's which had worked, no longer worked, on the same hardware.

Your comments lack credibility and you remind of a joke.
What is the difference between a used car salesman and a computer salesman.
At least the used car salesman knows when he is lying.
I don't know the field of computing you worked in, sounds like sales
and all this time it looks like you have not learnt much.

Nobody is trying to insult you and for sure not me. I am saying to you that Vista when installed on a clean brand new HD will install without any issues if all hardware and system is compatible with what Vista needs. Most errors are inflicted by incompatible or defective hardware and user input along with software that is not compatible with Vista. Most virgin Vista(Clean install) installs will go without a problem. Vista being installed as an Upgrade will most likely have many more problems because of what is already in the computer and is not compatible with the Vista GUI.

Also user inflicted issues are common when installing and using any OS or Software. This you must be aware of. Since Vista has a new type of GUI and is a big change from 9X and NT there is a learning curve that will take a bit of time for some to understand and learn.

I myself had a heck of a time after DOS and Windows jumping directly to NT back in the early 90s. My favorite program at one time was Symphony LOL

How lame. M$ cannot do what Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, and BSD Unix have done
for over a decade. All of the unix/unix like OS's do 64-bit and have a
reasonably full suite of applications and the tools to make more
convenietly. M$ does not even have a reasonable driver suite for 64-bit,
vista or XP.
