Hello Everyone

I finally got Vista installed, after spending days trying to get it to work.
All the errors I got had nothing
to do with the reason why, for example one error stated that it would close
down to prevent damage
to the machine, and everytime there would be a different error message, that
is not logical.
The installation wizard has great difficulty finding drivers even when they
are on the same drive, for
example, if you remove a card and change slots on the motherboard, it can
not find the drivers even
though they were previously installed.

The reason my installation failed numerous times is because of the slot that
the video card occupies
(even when you configure the bios to use the second pci-e slot and the users
guide says you can use
either slot) but microsoft would not allow it. Why would I use the second
slot because I have a adaptec
39320 card and asus recommend using the first pci-x slot and there is not
enough room for the video
card in slot 1 with the 39320 in the first pci-x slot ( bad design by ASUS )
before you say it, yes I have
the latest bios for my motherboard which is a M2N32 WS Pro and the video
card is a power color
ATI X1600Pro.

It seems to me Microsoft need to lift their game.

Thank you.

And you don't suspect a bad mother board as one of your problems. When the
primary video slot is borked I certainly would.

Well this is unlikely as Windows XP Pro and Windows XP X64 both seem to work
ok with the video caard in either slot.but not Vista.

Thank you.

You're welcomed and the next time do keep the whine to yourself.

Is there a warm bottle and a Pamper in the house?

Excuse me, but other than insults you got anything useful to do beside trying to push in peoples stool there tool?

Motherboard BIOS handled it, Vista should have in all likelyhood unless the drivers were still the 64 bit for the 32 bit version of Vista.
If you were trying the drivers from 64 bit Xp to 64 bit Vista however.....
Good luck, I don't see 64 bit being ready for much of anything but an email machine.

since they are all females, that lets you out.

Take your hardware and install media to a competent shop.
After all your own rants, FALSE accusations and much more, it is
fairly clear you have no intention and probably lack the ability to
succeed at this otherwise usually simple task.

If the shop has the same issues, it will more than likely prove to be
incompatible hardware.

Did you actually read the whole message, I do not think so otherwise
you would not make yourself look foolish by your statements.
I did indeed succeed in installing Vista, that is not the issue.
How long have you been working with computers? I built my
first many computers in 1989 it was a from a motherboard I bought
in Hong Kong before that in 1984 I studied Electronic Engineeering
at college where I learned about computers where they had to learn
about the ALU and various gates etc in other words the nuts and bolts
of couputer hardware. Back then you did trouble shooting at component
level and to actually find the fault. Later I took courses at college on
programming in pascal and C and C++ which I prefer and learned
also learned about networks. My first OS was Dos 3.1 because I could
not afford 4.0 I later used IBM OS/2 and Windows NT 3.5, 4.0
and Windows 95 which I did not like and Windows 98 and Now Windows
XP and XP X64 I am currently updating my programming skills and I keep
up to date with the latest hardware. I am upgading my scsi drives to SAS
I have used scsi since my WD 7000FASST card. I was sending emails
using FIDO net before they had the internet as we know it and I had
my own node. I would think very carefully how I would respond if I were you
what I have stated are facts and I tried different versions of Vista hence
more that one media.
So what is your background in computing? How old are you?
If you are attacking my competency you have picked the wronge man.
From your comments you are no better than those clowns with their
stupid comments. THINK carefully how you respond.
Thank You

Hey kid... your mom says take out the trash and stop doing that or you'll go blind.

If you're so smart - why did you have such trouble. Compared to you I am
dumb, yet I have installed Vista on well over 100 various computers
(upgrades and fresh installs) since Nov. 1, 2006 and have had problems with
only one install. It was due to hardware.
