Hello everybody.... I AM HAPPY.

I'm not new in the computer world but yes i am new around SCSI.
Have been working with SCSI like for 2 months now.
I have told some of you guys that have asked me, that i had no bios acess
to
this SCSI card in order to setup properly.
But now i do have the option to setup it (CTRL+A) and there you go.
I had upgraded the SCSI Card BIOS and now i have acess to its BIOS thank
Good.
Now everything is working properly but still there's something that its
bothering me.
Some of you said that without the boot.ini, NTLDR and NTDETECT.com the
system wouldn't boot up.
Well i have run a full searche and nothing has come up and its not hiden
as
well.
But then again, everything is working fine know.
The SCSI bios was version 2.52.0 and now its 3.10.0.
THANKS ALL OF YOU GUYS FOR THE TIME SPENT WITH ME.
BEST REGARDS
CARLOS ARRUDA
If i can help you guys in the future just ask cause if i can i will.

Well, it didn't work first time so install the proper drivers..
and
make
sure your BIOS is seeing the car before you begin the install!!!!!!!!!!
:-)

Hello mate.
I have instaled windows xp like always do.
About the SCSI drives at the begining of instalation i have don it
once
and
the system told me that the windows xp suporte that device and that
was
recomended to keep windows drivers for it.
Well i'll give it another go and lets see whats gonna happend.

ME will NOT see any drive because ME uses FAT/FAT32 and XP uses
NTFS5
and
ME
knows nothing about NTSF5 - so don't waste your time there.

Well, it sounds to me as if you did a bl**dy awful install of
Windows
XP
and
you are going to have no other choice but to install it again.

You MUST have your driver for your SCSI Controller and VERY
EARLY
in
the
Windows XP install you will be asked to press F6 if you want to
install
additional drivers - it comes up and goes quickly so you have
to
be
ready
for it - at which point you press F6, place a floppy with your SCSI
Controller driver in and then carry on with the XP install.

So, go do a fresh install.

If you can't see them they are hidden. If they weren't there you PC
would
not boot. Glad it is working. Now, take my advice - switch the
PC
off,
unplug it, put it in a cupboard and never touch it again! :-)

Hello everybody.... I AM HAPPY.

I'm not new in the computer world but yes i am new around SCSI.
Have been working with SCSI like for 2 months now.
I have told some of you guys that have asked me, that i had no bios
acess
to
this SCSI card in order to setup properly.
But now i do have the option to setup it (CTRL+A) and there
you
go.
I had upgraded the SCSI Card BIOS and now i have acess to its BIOS
thank
Good.
Now everything is working properly but still there's something that
its
bothering me.
Some of you said that without the boot.ini, NTLDR and NTDETECT.com
the
system wouldn't boot up.
Well i have run a full searche and nothing has come up and its not
hiden
as

Well, it didn't work first time so install the proper drivers..
and
make
sure your BIOS is seeing the car before you begin the
install!!!!!!!!!!
:-)

Hello mate.
I have instaled windows xp like always do.
About the SCSI drives at the begining of instalation i
have
don
it
once
and
the system told me that the windows xp suporte that device and
that
was
recomended to keep windows drivers for it.
Well i'll give it another go and lets see whats gonna happend.
Cheers mate

Thanks for your time and all of you guys out there truing to

ME will NOT see any drive because ME uses FAT/FAT32 and XP
uses
NTFS5
and
ME
knows nothing about NTSF5 - so don't waste your time there.

Well, it sounds to me as if you did a bl**dy awful
install
of
Windows
XP
and
you are going to have no other choice but to install it again.

You MUST have your driver for your SCSI Controller and VERY
EARLY
in
the
Windows XP install you will be asked to press F6 if you want
to
install
additional drivers - it comes up and goes quickly so you have
to
be
ready
for it - at which point you press F6, place a floppy
with
your
SCSI
Controller driver in and then carry on with the XP install.

So, go do a fresh install.

went to the c:\ tryed to do a dir in root c:\ and it was
giving
me
an
error
like nothing was there.

Your System will not boot if you do not have a
boot.in,
an
NTLDR
and
and
NTDETECT.com file in your C:\ root. Do a search to
see
if
you
have
them
anywhere else on your system.

If you do copy them to C:\

Hello mate.
I only have yhe boot.ini, config.sys and system.ini
nothing
else
and
they
were all all in the pss folder.
I do not have either Autoexec.bat, NTLDR, NTDETECT.com.
I already copy into the c:\ the files i had but
when
the
pc
boots
it
gives
me the same error.
Now what to do?
Thanks

If you can't see those files in your C:\ root then
either
you
have
them
hidden or you don't have them. If you don't have them
then
you
ain't
going
to boot into Windows.

To UNHIDE these files - in order to see if they are
there -
go
to
Windows
Explorer\TOOLS\FOLDER OPTIONS\VIEW and select SHOW
HIDDEN
FILES
AND
FOLDERS
and then click on APPLY and OK. You should now
see
all
those
files
in
your
C:\

If they are not there then copy them from you PSS
folder
but
don't
forget
to
remove the .BACKUP ending to them all.

Hello.
Hidden files and folders yes but as normal,
just
for
system
files.
Yes, that boot.ini is a backup like boot.ini.backup.
Strange but no, i can't see them in c:\ the files
config
and
autoexec,
ntldr
and ntdetect.com.
It feels like were close to the error?
Please say yes.
Thanks mate for your time.
Hope to get this done really soon.
Best Regards

Well, there's a problem for a start.

Your boot.ini is correct in its wording for a
Windows
XP
install
on
the
first partition of your first drive but it is
located
in
the
wrong
place.
It
MUST be in your C:\ root and MUST be called
boot.ini

You have a spare in your C:\Windows\Pss
folder
but
it
is
CLEARLY
labelled
as
boot.ini.backup

Do you have 'Hidden Files And Folders' hidden???
If
you
do
then
your
boot.ini in your C:\ root will be hidden.
Can
you
see
other
files
in
your
C:\ root such as Config.sys, Autoexec.bat, NTLDR,
NTDETECT.com?

Thanks for your time and all of you guys out there truing to help
fwiw it sounds like you might be trying to boot from
scsi (check the bios) which make the scsi disc "c:\"
i've done that once or twice with my ata-raid card
if that doesn't fit, have you tried the recovery console?
"bootcfg /r" rebuilds the "boot.ini"
