itsme said:Gawd I must be getting old how do I get to see the photos no links or am I missing something [besides a brain]
Ooooooops
Sorry Viv
was my brain still on honeymoon sorry
Thank you everyone
Yes Taffy, several people commented on how happy everyone was
John's brother & family went to another wedding shortly after getting home again & said how different it was.
We wanted to keep it relaxed & said right from the start that most of all we wanted to have fun
And the dress was indescribeable!
someone took a photo of me holding it up, matching the side seams to each other above my head, each of the 4 sections of the skirt was a half circle of cloth, making a full circle of cloth each for front & back & for two layers of skirt You wouldn't've believed how heavy it was either
It was incredible
Haven't seen that photo yet though & can't remember who it was that took it. There were also some photos of me swirling the skirt around as well but still waiting/hoping for them to come in too.
Nah, Viv, the horse never had a chance
Although, not many women get to say that their husband arrived at the wedding on the back of another woman
Thank you rush
All of John's workmates are hassing him about the 'honeymoons over' & 'the old ball & chain' thing
& how I'd never let him do this that & the other now
to so many of them it's like Marriage means ownership & the right to treat each other like children.
Why on earth would I try & tell John what he could & couldn't do?
Or him me.
I don't understand it at all.
We both been grownups a long time now
(well, most of the time anyway )
Oh well, that's the beauty of Marriage I suppose
You each get to make your own & don't have to follow anyone elses rules
& so far we are both very happy
Hopefully we'll still be saying that in 15 years
But, since all we ever have is today
Then today will do me just fine
& The scenery
yes, I love it here.
We decided to get Married at home mostly because,
Where could we go that was more beautiful
& it was great also in that everyone could just wander around & chat etc.
Several people went out the back to visit Pringle & Gabby
I had shut Pringle up in the paddock with Gabby for the wedding so he didn't get too frightened by too many people all at once.
But he certainly managed to make himself heard throughout the wedding
We kept things very informal,
One of John's boys turned up in his work clothes (he's a mechanic), rushing up the path, pulling his nice shirt overtop of his work clothes as he came,
He was asking John when the actual wedding was as he came up the path & John had to say we'd had it already
He'd run out of petrol on his way out to Port & had missed it
He was really bummed.
But he was in time for the food & one has to keep ones priorities straight
John's kids are cool
I'll put one of the 'Family photos' up in a minute.
In the photos Ash got My boy (he's the one in the tux) to stand in front of him to hide the stains on his trousers
But we were just glad to have him there whatever he was wearing
John's oldest boy lives in the UK & wasn't able to make it to the Wedding
But everyone else was there
It was a wonderful wedding
A wonderful day
& shared with some wonderful people
Yes, Happy
