This is a temporary page - what does it need to be ready for prime time?

Please take a look and post comments and suggestions.

Susan

Just give up and forget it. This is nothing people can't find as fast
by themselves using Google. It really doesn't impress me and from the
comments I read here many, if not most, don't care at all. It was nice
and useful for some a few years, but now it's simply another wink and
nod as most go to the next subject forgetting about Useless Ware in 5
minutes. Thanks for the nice job you've done, but it really isn't
appreciated anymore.

I like it - it is nice to have one place with all free WebWare available -
several tools were new to me.

Minor suggestion:
A column with information about when description are revised
(- it is nice to know how old the info is.)

Keep up the good work.

This is only your opinion, don't speak for others.
Instead I find that page very useful, like all the other pages.
IMO, of course.

Just my personal suggestion. I would like to see it integrated with the
main page so I could pick a catagory and choose web based or PC based.
Again, this is only my personal opinion.

Thanx for collecting them!

A few little remarks :

BUSINESS-HOME, 2.10 Mathematics
QuickMath, links to more than sixty online math tools

I think the description "links to more than sixty online math tools"
belongs to "Online tools - maths online" iso "QuickMath"

-------

BUSINESS-HOME, 2.20 Spreadsheet
Robert's online Spreadsheet!
Simple online spreadsheet (requires Java)

This hyperlink points to "Online tools - maths online" iso
http://www.intrepid.com/~robertl/spreadsheet1.html

-------

WEB DESIGN, 1.01 Editor: HTML
Elara HTML Editor v1.0, note: IE only

This tool does work with other browsers, it's the next tool,
"Html-editor" which will only work proper under IE

What a rude a..hole you are. Some of us do appreciate this type of
information, so please don't try to speak on our behalf, and certainly not
in that sort of tone. It appears that, when you were born, the bowls of
good manners the angels were handing out were all used up by the time you
got there (or more likely you just spat them back in their faces).

I think Pricelessware has probably been in the top 10 of the sites I have
found invaluable since I first connected to the Net 3 years ago. I thank
Susan & any others who have contributed to it's upkeep, including of course
all of the posters who have given feedback on new software to this group.

If you can't say anything positive about about someone or the work they have
carried out, then either don't say anything, or say it in a way that lets
them know that you do appreciate the work they have done, but it's not what
is needed at the moment.

You sound like the sort of idiot you see in MacDonalds yelling at & abusing
the 15 year old serving at the counter in front of everyone because your
burger was not hot enough when all you need to do is courteously ask to
speak with the manager.

Finally, I bet you are one of those hypocrites who sit around whinging about
the manners of today's generation to everybody within listening distance.

And to Susan - a big thank-you from the bottom of my heart.

That was my initial thought - others seemed to prefer a separate page. I
think they were right - the info is different enough to make it
difficult to combine them.

Cross-referencing *some* of the apps seems like a good idea (I do have a
few listed in the Program Info pages now). I don't think the online
search, translation, dictionary etc. apps need cross-references. ISTM
most people will look at the Webware page first for those.
Thanx for collecting them!

YW :)

I think a couple of those are already on the page. I'll add the others -
thanks for the help. New URL is:

Nice work. Here are a few I use constantly:

http://www.pureprivacy.com/
PurePrivacy provides you a FREE proxy server which downloads the webpage
you requested and then displays the web page to you through our site.
Since your computer never makes any kind of connection to the server
(only ours does), it brings the web page that you requested to your
browser anonymously.

http://tinyurl.com/create.php
Are you sick of posting URLs in emails only to have it break when sent
causing the recipient to have to cut and paste it back together? Then
you've come to the right place. By entering in a URL in the text field
below, we will create a tiny URL that will not break in email postings
and never expires.

http://www.mailinator.com/mailinator/Welcome.do
Welcome to Mailinator(tm) - Its no signup, instant anti-spam service.
Here is how it works: You are on the web, at a party, or talking to your
favorite insurance salesman. Whereever you are, someone (or some
webpage) asks for your email. You know if you give it, you're gambling
with your privacy. On the other hand, you do want at least one message
from that person. The answer is to give them a mailinator address. You
don't need to sign-up. You just make it up on the spot. Pick
(e-mail address removed) or (e-mail address removed) - pick anything you want
(up to 15 characters before the @ sign). Later, come to this site and
check that account. Its that easy. Mailinator accounts are created when
mail arrives for them. No signup, no personal information, and when
you're done - you can walk away -

OK, A couple of points

Has all of this stuff been voted on already? If not, you should note that
this stuff is not Pricelessware yet, otherwise it's misleading.

Several of these pages have advertising and/or spyware, others require
cookies. That should be noted. It's a BIG problem!

Webware is an *alt.comp.freeware* page:

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/acf/Webware.php

*This* is a typical Pricelessware Page:

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/2004/PL2004BUSINESS-HOME.htm
Several of these pages have advertising and/or spyware, others require
cookies. That should be noted. It's a BIG problem!

More information would be helpful. Which pages have which of these problems?

Hi /Joe\,

Gee, a *second* new face. If you and Al stick around everything will
become much clearer.
