Vista won't go to Sleep

Interesting that I have never had a BIOS that supported anything but S1, S3
or S1+S3, yet hibernate has been offered as an option, which seems to work.
Thanks for the reference.

i've tried these suggestions, and this is what happens:

i put the computer to sleep, i hear the disc slow down and stop (?)
but then it immediately starts back up and the computer comes out of
sleep...

this is a newer HP computer that came with vista home premium.

the thing is, i don't remember this happening before i installed my
high speed internet (from verizon)...

could this have something to do with it???

Also check

Device Manager
Network adapters
your particular adapter
Power Management tab

mine is set to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, NOT
Allow this device to wake the coputer
