This is why I hate forums as a poor alternative to companies that want to
overcharge us and then provide no tech support, limited tech support or paid
tech support. I spent hours and hours reading and writing and proofing
messages for almost a week, just to find out that it was all wasted time.
It's not your fault. It's the fault of the companies like Microsoft who sold
me XP Pro 64-bit and then Vista Ultimate 64-bit and yet will not help me
anymore. I will have to decide whether I am interested in doing more of this
forum stuff elsewhere.
It just seems to me that since the BIOS accepts, sees and uses ALL the
memory and Vista cannot even boot with it, then if it is a hardware issue, it
would pertain to how the software interacts with it. In other words, Vista
needs to work with the hardware, especially mainstream hardware that was in
testing the same time Vista was. This is not antiquated hardware nobody uses
anymore.
