"In addition, we'll be unable to provide you with a copy of
RC1 (Release Candidate 1, the release subsequent to Beta2) unless your copy
of Beta2 is activated."

I got my notion from this sentence. Am I reading it incorrectly or perhaps
out of context?

And this is why I wrote things like rumour, allegedly, conjecture, etc...
That's all it is! Pure, uninformed, speculative guesswork. As I am sure
you deduced this by the tongue-in-cheek style, as requested by the OP. I am
positive that certain regulars on this forum do know the answers, but are
either bound by their NDA's or are sadististic. Or both.

I'm just saying that programs in addition to CPP will most likely appear,
perhaps a Consumer Preview or a Media Center Preview, etc. at RC1 time. I'm
just throwing out ideas here. I don't have any inside info, but this is how
it has gone over time.

Not me, I was in church!

I STILL do not believe him,as it wasn't listed on the MAIN Vista download
page or in the stuff included in the mailed DVD.

I don't know whether it will turn out as the blog says or not. But the blog
does say what Kev was reporting. I have no idea how activation could even
be linked to persons in the database for RC1. No personal information is
collected at activation. Anyway, that would violate my idea of the
impersonality of activation (applies to the computer, not the user).

I am skeptical of what I read, but read it I did.

I don't think they will really bar out those who didn't activate the beta 2.
Why? Because otherwise the Get Ready Page, download page, registration would
have all been terrible misleading, not to mention ordering the dvd were it
said that ordering the dvd would ensure you RC1 when it was available. I hold
microsoft to its promises it makes on its public pages, not blogs that are
virtually hidden from most users. Of couse, I activated, so I'm good either
way.

Weird ghosties told him the date and the hour. Now if only Outlook could tell
me when judgement day will arrive :)
