You think XP -> Vista is the same as XP -> Linux?

That looks like ass!
I have no need for that
I have no need for that
I think Apple did this best. One click> and you see everything. Screw
this carousal/cube crap!
Of course not! XP -> Linux is a move from a toy operating system to a realJustin said:You think XP -> Vista is the same as XP -> Linux?
Stephan Rose said:I can do that too actually. All I need to do is move my mouse pointer to
the
very upper right corner of my desktop and all windows get shown on my
screen and I can switch to whatever window I want. I could tie it to a
key
too if I wanted to which I might actually do.
It's hard to hit the corner up there with a dual-screen desktop as the
mouse
wants to move to the other desktop. =)

operating system to a newer toy operating system with eye-candy, if one
has
the hardware to even run this eye-candy.
In short, Ubuntu+Beryl == The Real "Wow".
...running on hardware that doesn't require spending hundreds of dollars
to
get running.
Cheers.

mouse (mouseover) then release the button to get that window brought up
front.
We BEGGED for this during the beta.
And I take it by your earlier comment that Apple did it best, it never
made
it into Vista?
Justin said:Nope, MS refuses to copy Apple.
Hahahaha!!!!! That should be good for another 200 posts!

Justin said:You can come close with Windows Desktop Search on XP but then again, that
app is garbage. Especially when it comes to a large amount of files.
Being able to resize thumbnails and look inside documents (explorer).
This has made a few people at my place of work MUCH MORE productive as
well as myself.
Need more?
Stephan Rose said:Don't need Vista for that. =) Kubuntu has the same feature, well almost.
Though honestly Justin, I think your needs might be a little uncommon
dontcha think? Don't know what your company does but I've yet to find
myself in a situation, or know someone in the situation, that they need to
search for files so much that the time it takes is of any actual
consequence in the long run.

convo...not yet ;p
It's not just about files. It's about files, files inside emails, files
inside zipped files, tens of thousands of files or not knowing if the info
you need is in a file or in an email.
I have one machine that houses all our EDI data. It maintains the
original TXT files that are received and sent. It archives anything older
then 90
days into zip files. To date it has over 350,000 files. When I tell
Win03 to search this massive structure it can take up to 6 minutes to give
me
results. Sometimes, those results are empty. Oops, gotta do it again!
I've been syncing these files to a Vista machine where I can search
instantly.
Although I've had to learn to PASTE my search into the field all at once.
Doing it one character at a time was slowing it down.
