Wow...I love the way that someone who can't spell "ridiculous" is calling
someone an "oaf", but that explains the person's ignorance of how things
work...oh well.

| You'd think that the fonts folder would also give you a preview of the
font
| when you click on the file. Maybe it will in final.

You know...I guess I've never really CARED about it, as long as it worked,
but, as someone who has 9000+ typestyles, (I do a lot of publishing) I
prefer using a type manager. But ONE of these days maybe MS will come up
with something like that. Maybe they're in cahoots with Adobe on it.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them.
It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us.
If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault.
If it was us, what did that make Me?
After all, I'm one of Us. I must be.
I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them.
No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them.
We're always one of Us.
It's Them that do the bad things.

I remember back in the early 90's, we had those IBM PS2 PCs with 2 3 1/2
floppy drives and NO hard drive. I had ALL of my software on 1 floppy disk
(Lotus 1-2-3, Word Perfect, a menu system program, etc.) and ALL of my
documents on the other floppy disk. Pages upon pages of word processing
docs, spreadsheets, etc). And these were 720k disks. It all worked
perfectly fine and perfectly speedy. It was all DOS, no Windows.

The first PC I bought had an 80 MEGABYTE hard drive, 2 MEGABYTES of ram,
512K on-board video memory and a 14" color monitor, all for the amazing low
price of 2,700.00 - and that was the home shopping channel special! It took
FOREVER to fill up that hard drive, though. I remember running Lotus 1-2-3
on that machine, and was amazed at how FAST it was compared to the PC I had
in the office.
How simple it was back then.

Remember when Windows was supplied on Floppy Disks?

To go back even further, I had a Commodore 64, on which I learned BASIC and
wrote tones of programs. I finally was able to buy the TAPE drive that used
standard cassette tapes. I eventually was able to afford a Commodore 128 and
2 3 1/2 inch floppy drives. Oh, the fun I had with that!

OK, my trip down memory lane is over...

MORON ALERT!!!

AND a vista user... no wonder!

I was an administrator in a school that was using a Radio Shack 3mb hard
drive in the computer lab. Student files eventually filled it up.

Oh yeah? Mr Microsoft zombie fan, no one forces you to wear clothes and not
run around naked....

But actually you wont go around naked because no one else does!

You should know more about following blindly the leader,
since you are a microsoft fan. I loved microsoft products,
up untill the vista era. It seems that quality went out of the window. I
dont know what those guys at redmond are thinking.. IF they are thinking
that is! Seems to me that they are not.

OwlOaf!

I have been through all those changes....and I am NOT
against change. I welcome change, and always have the latest and greatest...

but never has a software company produced such a revolting product. This
tops even Windows Millenium!!!
This is 2006-07 we are talking about.
I expect far more that this vista monstrosity.

on your products..

I have been saying Vista will be as successful as Millenium for a long time
now.

I'm glad someone agrees.

ok.. give me some time.. be back in 5 years...

I can agree it has a win3.11'ish look to that dialouge, stick to your roots.
An even better solution than having them bloat the thing out with another
cheezified dialouge. Prompt the user when a new font is encountered: [user
clicks a .ttf file on their desktop, little box pops up... "Hey you wanna
install this font?" A small minute kb amount of batch instructions is much
better than a bloated app.
